HomeMy WebLinkAbout59-04116 443 RESOLUTION NO. 59-41 EXPI~ESSING THE DESIRE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA FOR IMPROVED AIR FACILITIES AND CONNECTIONS WITH VARIOUS CITIES OF THE UNITED STATES, AND URGING INCREASED USE OF THE LONG BEACH MUNICIPAL AIRPORT WHEREAS, the City of Santa Aha is but a short dist~ce from the Long Beach Municipal Airport, and traffic conditions between said two points are favorable to short-time travel without excessive driver fatigue; and WHEREAS, other major airports in Los Angeles County lie beyond the City of Los Angeles involving a trip through that City, which is time consuming at any hour of the day; and Wit~HEAS, with adequate air schedules to and from the Long Beach Municipal Airport passengers and freight inbound and out- bound from Santa Aha, California could more easily and quickly ac- complish the necessary surface travel between said two points than is now necessary in going to or from either of the major airports on the other side of the City of Los Angeles; and WHEREAS, the rapid growth of the entire County of Orange makes it desirable to have more easily accessible airport facilities; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA: That it would be to the advantage and best interest of said City to encourage and promote more fre- quent airline service into and out of the Long Beach Municipal Air- port for the use of the citizens of said City and the citizens of the County of Orange, generally.
