OF THE CANVASS OF EI~CTION ~TURNS OF THE GENERAL ~UNIC-
IPAL ELECTION HELD IN ~HE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA
ON APRIL 7TH, 1959
WHEREAS, the City Council, by Ordinance No. NS-364, duly
called and provided for the holding of a General ~unicipal Election
to fill offices on the City Council an~the Board of Education, to
be held in the City of Ssnta Ana and in the Santa Aha School Districts
outside of said City, on April 7th, 1959; and
WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given
in time, fo~u and manner, as provided by law, and said election was
on said date duly held at the polling places designated, ~nd the
votes cast thereat were canvassed and the returns thereof made at
the time ~nd in the manner and form provided hy law; and
WHEREAS, on the 14th day of April, 1959, the City Council of
the City of Santa Aha has duly assembled at its usual place of meet-
ing, and has canvassed the returns of said election;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF S~TA AiWA DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DETEPg~INE, A'~D ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
That said General Nunicipal Election was, in all respects, duly
held on April 7th, 1959, and the votes cast thereat were duly and
regularly canvassed and the returns thereof made at the time and in
the form and ~anner required by law.
That the absent voters' ballots have been duly counted a~ d
c~nvassed as required by law, and the result of such count is here-
after stated. That this City Council has duly canvassed the returns
of said election and from said returns it appears, and this City
Council finds, that t~e tot~ nomuber of votes cast in each precinct
for each person, the total number of votes cast in this City, and in
that portion of the S~ta Ana School Districts lying outside of this
City for each person, the whole number of votes cast in said election
and the total number of absentee votes cast in said election in this
City and in consolidated voting precinct No. 58, wi~ich consists of
territory lying outside of thim City but within the Santa Ana School

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, ~n~EREFORE: That at said Ceneral
~'iunicipal E~ction DALE H. HEINLY, residing in Ward 2, and BOB
BRE~VER, residing in Ward 4, were elected to the office of ~EMBER
OF THE CITY COUNCIL for a te~m of four years; and
That CHARLOTTE M. CHENEY and CHARLES G. SCHLEGEL were elected
to the office of MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION for the term of
four years.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Sa~ ta
Ana at its adjourned ~egular meeting hold on the ~_th day of April,
1959, for the purpose of canvassing the returns of saLd ~lection.
