HomeMy WebLinkAbout59-206RESOLUTION N0.59-206 INITIATING PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEX- ATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SANTA ~kNA, DESIGNATING AN APPROPRIATE NA~E OF "EDINGER AND DOREEN SOUTH A~" A~D GIVING NOTICE OF TIME ~D PLACE OF HEARIiiG PROTESTS THERETO ~EEREAS, at the request of property owners in the territory hereinbelow described, a description and map of said territory was presented to the Santa .~ua Planning Commission and s~ d Conimission has approved the annexation of said territory and the Boundary Com- mission of Ora~ ge County has approved said description as being reas- onably definite and certain; NOW, THERE~'0RE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby initiates proceedings for the annexation of real property herein described to said City for the ~ llowing reasons: 1. ~ihat t[~e area can best be served by the City of S~ta Ana with municipal services of t~e hig!~est caliber anywhere obtainable. 2. That said territory would receive the greatest economic benefit by becoming a part of the City of Santa Ana. BE IT _~VJR~tER RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby declares its intention to annex all of the territory hereinbelow described under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 and hereby finds and declares that said territory is unin- habited within the meaning of Government Code Section 5~30~ on the date of the adoption of this Resolution; that said territory is con- tiguous to the City of Santa Ana, lies in the County of Orange, State of California, and is described as: Beginning at a point on the center line of Edinger Street, 1,~34.00 feet westerly from the intersection of the center lines of Edinger Street and Bristol Street, said point of beginning being a point on the existing boundary of the City of Santa Ana, said point also being the intersection of the center line of Edinger Street with the northerly extension of the west line of Lot 3 as shown on a Record of Survey Map filed in Book 3, page 29, Record of Surveys in the Office of the County Recorder of Ors~ge County, California; thence de- parting from said City boundary South 00© ll' 2~" West along said west line of Lot 3 and its northerly extension 6~9.64 feet to the southerly line of the tract of land described in deed to H. ~'. Rogers and wife dated September 6, 1927, and recorded in Book 87, page 28 of Official Records of said Orange County, and to the south line of said Lot 3; thence westerly along the south line of Lots ~!., ~, 6, y, 8, 9, 10, ll, 12, and 13, as shown on said Record of Survey to a point on the South line of Lot 13 which intersects with a line paral- lel with the east line of Lot 13 and 132.00 feet westerly, measured along the South line of Lot l~, from the Southeast corner of Lot l~; thence northerly along s~id parallel line and its northerly extension to the center line of Edinger Street and to said City boundary; thence easterly along said center line and along said city boundary to the point of beginning. BE IT FURTHEH HESOLVED: That "EDINGER AND DOREEN SOUTH A~NEX" is hereby designated as an appropriate name for said territory for the purpose of this annexation. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT NOTICE IS FEREBY GIVEN: That Septem- ber 21, 19~9, at the hour of 7:30 P. X. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Third and ~ain Streets, Santa Ana, Califo~ia, is the time and place fixed at which said Council will hear protests against this annexation made by any person owning real property within said terri- tory. At any time before said hour any such person who desires to protest must file written protest against this proposed annexation. Such protest must state the owner's name and the description and area of the property owned by hir~ in general terms . PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the ~rd day of ~&ugust, 19~9.
