TION NO. 58-281, AND REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 5114 AND ALL
RESOLUTIONS AMENDING SAID RESOLUTION NO. 5114
~, on November 3, 1958, the City Council adopted Resolu-
tion No. 58-281, which superseded Resolution No. 5114 and all subse-
quent Resolutions amending the same by reestablishing a basic compen-
sation plan for officers and employees of the City of Sa~ ta Ana, and
it appears that through oversight original Resolution No. 5114 was not
expressly repealed; and
WHEREAS, it is now desired to add certain schedule numbers to
Section 2,~ and to change certain Class Titles, to reassign Schedule
Numbers to Class Titles, ao~l to add a provision for a special non-
schedule numbered wage addition to Section 3 of said Resolution t~o.
58-281;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Section 2 of Resolution
No. 58-281 is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 2: Salary and Wage Schedules. The following salary
and wage schedules shall constitute the basic compensation plan con-
sisting of five (5) steps or rates of pay in each schedule. The re-
spective schedules shallb e identified by number and the steps by the
letters A to E inclusive. The columnar headings at the top of each
co2,~mu shall establish the purpose of each step and the length of
service required for advancement to the next higher step, as provided
in Section 7 hereof.

No. 58-281 is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 3: Allocation of Classes of Employment to Salary
and Wage Schedules. Classes of employment shall be allocated to
Salary and Wage Schedules as follows:

* Any Patrolman assigned to duty on a two-wheeled motor-
cycle shall receive extra compensation for any month during which the
major portion of his duty involves the riding of such motorcycle, and
any Patrolman assigned to duty as au Investigator shall receive extra
compensation for any month in which the major portion of his duty has
been so assigned. The extra compensation in each case shall be, in
addition to the regular scheduled pay, the sum of Twenty-Five Dollars
($25.00) per month.
~ Every Police Officer doing regular peace officer work
and every Fire Department employee regularly engaged in on-the-scene
fire suppression (class titles for such classifications hereinabove
indicated by a double asterisk following such class titles) shall re-
ceive, in addition to the regular scheduled and step wa~e designated
for said individual, an additional sum of Ten Dollars (~10.00) per
month for each month during which said individual actually performs
service for the City. For the purpose of this additional payment a
regular vacation period shall be considered service. In event of
absence from duty for any other reason than vacation said additional
payment shall be prorated upon the basis of the number of days actually
worked.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That Resolution No. 514 and all Reso-
lutions amending said Resolution No. 5114 are hereby declared to be
superseded, rescinded and repealed by Resolution No. 58-281.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That this Resolution shall take effect
as of the 1st day of September, 1959.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council 0£ the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 8th day of September, 1959.
