RE~~L PROPERTY ~OR ~tE PURPOSE OF WIDENING EDINGER STREET
ON ~E NORTH SIDE A~JD DECLARING ~E NECESSITY THEREFOR
WHEREAS, Edinger Street as it now exists, West of Townsend
Street, is inadequate in width to accomodate the flow of traffic
presently using said street;
NOW, THEREFOHE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana does hereby find and determine
r~e~ity'~ui~that Edinger Street be widened and improved on the
north side, and furt}~er require that said City do have, take and
acquire an easement for street purposes over, through and across
certain land in the City of S~ta Ana, County of Orange, State of
California, described as:
Parcel 1. That portion of Lot ~4, in Tract No. 1347, as
shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 4a, Page l~, Miscel-
laneous Naps, Records of Orange County, lying southerly of
a line which is ~2 feet northerly, measured at right angles,
from the following described line:
Beginning at a point on the center line of Edinger Street
210.70 feet easterly, measured along said center line of
Edinger Street from the intersection of the center lines
of said Edinger Street and Gordon Place, as shown on said
Tract No. 1347; and r~nnin~' thence northwesterly along the
arc of a curve concave northerly having a radius of 1200.00
feet and tangent to said center line of Edinger, through a
central angle of ~o 10' 47" an arc distance of 66.60 feet
to a tangent line; thence northwesterly along said tangent
line 113.68 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave
southerl.? having a radius of 1200 feet; thence westerly
along the arc of said curve thrc~.gh a central angle of ~o
10, 4?". ~
Parcel 2. A ~oandrel ~haped parcel of land bounded westerly
by t~eat lm~e of samd Lot 54, bounded southerly by the
north line of Parcel 1; bounded northeasterly by the arc of
a curve concave northeasterly having a radius of 15 feet and
tangent to said westerly and southerly boundaries.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Attorney is hereby
ordered and directed to bring an action in the n~ne of said City
in the Superior Court of the State o~ California in and for the
County of 0raage to condemn said property necessary to be taken,
as herein ordered and described, and to do all things necessary to
prosecute said action to final deteumination.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the public interest, necessity
and convenience require and it is hereby ordered that the City of
Santa Aha, a mur~cipal corporation, Plaintiff in the condemation
action ordered herein, take immediate possession and use of the
property herein ordered to be acquired, upon complying with the re-
quirements of the law applicable thereto, that the City Attorney
report to the Director of Finance the amount of money required
ti~erefor, and that the ~trector of Fin~ce shall deposit said amount
with the Clerk of the Court.
BE IT ~JRTHER RESOLVED: That the said action for condemna-
tion of said property so to be acquired shall be taken in accordance
with Section 14, Article I of the Constitution of the State of
California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the ~ day of ~, 1959.
