FOR ANNEXATION DESIGNATING THE NA~¥1E OF 'TRASK AND LAIRD
N. E. ANNEX" AS AN APPROPRIATE NANE FOR SAID TERRITORY
AND GIVING NOTICE OF TINE A~D PLACE FOR H~ING PROTESTS
TO SAID ANNEXATION
WHEREAS, heretofore thePlanning Commission of Santa Aha has
approved the annexation of the territory hereinbelow designated,
and the Boundary Commission of Orange County has- approved the des-
cription of said territory as being reasonably definite and certain,
and a petition requesting annexation of said territory, signed by
the owners of more than one-fourth of said territory, has been
presented to the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana hereby accepts receipt of said petition and
finds and deter~aines that said petition is signed by the owners
of more than one-fourth of the land in the territory herein des-
cribed by area and by assessed value, as shown on the last equal-
ized assessment roll of the County of Orange; that said City Council
hereby declares its intention to annex all of said territory under
the provisions of the Annexation of rJni~habited Territory ~ct of
1939 and hereby finds and declares that .said territory is ~ninhab-
ited within the meaning of Govern~ent Code Section 35303 on the
date of the filing of said petition for annexation; that said terri-
tory is contiguous to the City of Sa. nra Ana, lies in the County of
Orange, State of California, and is described as:
Beginning at an angle point in the City Bound ary of the
City of Santa Ana, California, said angle point being a
point on a line which is parallel v~ith and 20.00 feet north-
erly, measured at right aogles, from the center line of
Trask Avenue, said point being 739.9~ feet westerly, measured
along said parallel line and its easterly extension, from
the westerly line of the Rancho Santiago De Santa Aha; said
point being on the westerly line of that certain parcel of
land designated "D 406-185" on a map recorded in Book l~ at
Page 40, Records of Survey of Orange County, California;
thence North 2~° 40, East along said westerly line and along
said city boundary 1~6.7~ feet more or less to an a.ngle point
therein; thence North 37'~ 4~2, 44" East along said c~ty bound-
ary 492.97 feet more or less to the most northerly corner of
said parcel designated "D 406-185" to an angle point in said
city boundary, said corner being on the sohtherly prolonga-
tion of the easterly boundary of Tract ~o. 2518, as shown on
a map thereof recorded in Book 88, Pages 44, 45, 46, 47, ~is-
cellaneous Maps, Records of said Orange County; thence north-
erly along said southerly prolongation and along said city
boundary to the so~th line of the north half (N 4) of the
southeast quarter (SE~) of the northwest quarter (NW~) of
Section 2, Township 5 South, Range l0 West, San Bernardino
Base and Meridian; thence westerly departing from said city
boundary along said south line, to the east line of the west
half (W~) of the northwest ~arter (NW~) of said Section 2;
thence southerly along said east lir~ to said parallel line
which is 20.00 feet northerly from the center line of Traak
Avenue, and to said city boundary; thence easterly along said
city boundary and along said parallel line to the point of
beginning.
BE IT FURT!~R RESOLVED: That "Trask and Laird N. E. Annex"
is hereby desicnated as an appropriate name for said territory for
the purpose of this annexation.
BE IT FURTHER _~SOLVED. That notice is hereby given that
January 18, 1960, at the hour of 7:30 ?.M. in the Council Chambers,
City Hall, 3rd and ~ain Streets, Santa Aha, California, is the time
and place fixed at which said Council will hear protests against
this annexation made by any person owning real property within said
territory; at any time before said hour any owner of any of said
territory may file written protest against this proposed annexation
with the Clerk of the Council, Room 30~, City Hall, Santa Ana, Cali-
fornia. Said protest shall state the name of the owner of the prop-
erty affected and the description and area of the property owned
by him in general terms.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 7th day of December, 19~9.
