RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE
TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY
FINANCING PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF FIFTH
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Aha desires to improve Fifth Street from Harbor
Boulevard to the Santa Aha River, and ~-~ --
WHEREAS, Fifth Street is an important artery in the County of Orange and of
general County interest, and
WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and
Highways Cede authorizes a County. if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned
to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the
improvement, construction or repair of a street within a City, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, provide
in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year
1960-61 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated
cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway
Financing Program.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESoL~Eo that the Council of the City of Santa Arm
here~y requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to
said City from County Funds the amount of $6~,850.00, said amount to be matched
by flmds from said City. to be used to aid said City in the improvement of Fifth
Street from Harbor Boulevard to the Santa Ama River, and for the acquisition of
necessary rights of way; said improvements and acquisition of rights of w~y to
be in accordance with the attached project statement;
BE IT FIPRTHER i{ESOLVED that the B~ard of Supervisors of the County of Orange
is hereby requested to find that said work and acquisition of rights of wa~ on
Fifth Street, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest.
BE IT FURTHER F~SOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Santa Aha agrees
with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways Financing Program; and further
agrees that its share of the cost of improvements and rights of way will be
available for the fiecal year 1960-61.
