RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE
TO INCLUDE %gITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY
FINANCING PROGRAM TI~ D]SYgO_OPMENT OF
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Aha desires to improve Fair, iow Street from
McFadden Avenue to Firs~t~ Street L and
WHEREAS, Fairview Street is aa important artery in the County of Orange
and of general County iaterest, and
%~.~AS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Divisic~ 2 of the Streets and
Highways Cede authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend i%mds apportioned
to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to a~ City in the
improvement, construction or repair of a street within a City, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, provide
in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year
1960-61 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated
cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway
Financing Program,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Aha
hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the Comity of Orange to allocate to
said City fro~ County Funds the amount of $52,000,00, said amount to be matched
by funds fro~ said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of Fairview
Street fron McFadden Avenue to First Street, and for the acquisition of necessary
rights of w~y; said improvements and acquisition of rights of way to be in
accordance with the attached project statement;
BE IT FURTEER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange
is hereby requested to find that said work smd acq~lsitiun of rights of way on
Fairview Street, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest,
BE IT FURTHER P~SOL¥~u that, by this Resolution, the City of Santa Aha agrees
with the basic concepts of the Ara, rial Highways Financing Program; and further
agrees that its share of the c~st of improvements and rights of way will be
available for the fiscal year 1960-61e
