IS PAYING NO CASH CONSIDERATION AND AUTHORIZING
EXECUTION OF A QUITCLAIM DEED BY THE CITY
WHEREAS, SANTA ANAHIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT OF OBANGE COUNTY
(Now known as the Santa Ana Unified School District) has presented
to the City a deed dated January 15, 1964, conveying an easement
for street purposes on Glenwood Place from Raitt Street to Green-
ville Street; and
WHEREAS, ALICE L. NUGENT and RICHARD L. NUGENT have delivered
to the City a deed dated January 11, 1964, conveying easements for
street purposes on the North side of Sherwood Avenue, East of Main
Street, and the West side of Maple Street; and
WHEREAS, JOSEPH R. CALLENS has delivered to the City a deed
dated January 23, 1964, conveying an easement for water main and
sanitary sewer purposes on Olive Street, North of Sunflower Avenue;
and
WHEREAS, the owners of property at the Southwest corner of
McFadden Avenue and Harbor Boulevard previously granted to the City
an easement for street purposes at said location and the description
on the grant deed was in error. It has now been determined that the
City execute a deed quitclaiming said property to the present owner,
SHELL OIL COMPANY, a Delaware corporation, which Company has delivered
to the City a new deed dated December 2, 1963, correctly describing
said property; and
WHEREAS, all of said transactions are without cash considera-
tion being paid to said grantors by the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Mayor and the Clerk
of the Council are hereby authorized and directed to execute a deed
quitclaiming to SHELL OIL COMPANY, a Delaware corporation, that
property at the Southwest corner of McFadden Avenue and Harbor
Boulevard which was previously conveyed to the City in error and to
deliver the same to said owner.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City accept said deeds and
Carl J. Thornton, the City's designated agent, is directed to place
his Certificate of Acceptance on said deeds.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 3rd day o~ February, 1964.
