HomeMy WebLinkAbout64-083RESOLUTION 64-83 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, EXPRESSING
SUPPORT FOR SENATE BILL 2760
WHEREAS, this City Council heretofore, by Resolution 64-53,
expressed its opposition to the Pacific Southwest Water Plan
offered and modified by Secretary of Interior Udall and outlined
its reasons for such opposition; and
WHEREAS, this City Council agrees to the necessity of
studying the water problems of all of the Pacific Southwest and
of all sources of imported water thereto, but firmly bel-ieves that
no plan ultimately arrived at should provide for the abandonment
of the Metropolitan Water District's Colorado River Aqueduct and
believes that Senate Bill Number 2760 introduced by Senator Thomas
Kuchel offers the best approach yet suggested to determine the
extent of the problem and to propose solutions therefor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council Of the
City of Santa Aha, California, that they urge support of Senate
Bill Number 2760 and request active effort from all California
legislators seeking its passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Aha at its regular meeting held on the 1st day of June, 1964.
