HomeMy WebLinkAbout64-083RESOLUTION 64-83 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR SENATE BILL 2760 WHEREAS, this City Council heretofore, by Resolution 64-53, expressed its opposition to the Pacific Southwest Water Plan offered and modified by Secretary of Interior Udall and outlined its reasons for such opposition; and WHEREAS, this City Council agrees to the necessity of studying the water problems of all of the Pacific Southwest and of all sources of imported water thereto, but firmly bel-ieves that no plan ultimately arrived at should provide for the abandonment of the Metropolitan Water District's Colorado River Aqueduct and believes that Senate Bill Number 2760 introduced by Senator Thomas Kuchel offers the best approach yet suggested to determine the extent of the problem and to propose solutions therefor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council Of the City of Santa Aha, California, that they urge support of Senate Bill Number 2760 and request active effort from all California legislators seeking its passage.
