REAL PROPERTY NECESSARY FOR THE LOCATION OF
A FIRE STATION WITHIN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
WHEREAS, because of the rapid population growth in the City
of Santa Ana it is necessary that a new fire station be located to
adequately Protect the structures within the City of Santa Ana from
fire hazard;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana does hereby find and declare that the public
interest and necessity require the construction of a new fire
station and the acquisition of a land site therefor; that fee title
be acquired for this fire station site; and further require that
said City do have and acquire that certain real property in the
City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California, described
as:
Lots 34 and 36, Block "B" of Gardner Villa Tract as shown
on a map thereof recorded An Book 13, Page 97, Miscellaneous
Maps, Records of Los Angeles County, California.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
1. That the City Attorney is hereby ordered to bring an
action in the name of the City to condemn said property necessary
to be taken and to do all things necessary to prosecute said action
to final determination;
2. That said public improvement is planned and located in
a manner which will be most compatible W~th the greatest public
good and the least private injury;
3. That the City of Santa Ana is authorized, empowered, and
required to provide fire protection for structures within the City
and in the furtherance thereof to maintain fire stations to house
equipment and men necessary for said function;
4. That said action in condemnation shall be taken in
accordance with the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure and
the Constitution of the State of California relating to eminent
domain.
PASSED ANDADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 15th day of June, 1964.
