ELECTION TO BE HELD OCTOBER 13TH, 1964, TO
SUBMIT TO THE ELECTORS RESIDING WITHIN THE
TERRITORY THE QUESTION WHETHER "SANTA CLARA
AND TUSTIN N. W. ANNEXATION" TERRITORY SHALL
BE ANNEXED TO AND INCORPORATED WITHIN THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, after request therefor, the Santa Ana City Council
did, by Resolution 64-84, consent to the commencement of proceedings
under the Annexation Act of 1913, and notice of intention to circu-
late a petition for annexation was duly published and a copy thereof,
together with written statements and affidavit of publication, were
filed with the Clerk of the Council and acknowledged by Resolution
64-90, and a petition for said annexation was duly filed with the
Clerk of the Council and by Resolution 64-102 said petition was
found to be signed by not less than one-fourth of the registered
electors residing in the territory, and by said Resolution notice
of protest hearing was duly given and held on August 3rd, 1964; and
thereafter, the finding was made that no protests had been filed
against said annexation and that therefore there had hot been a
majority protest against said annexation or the election thereon
by Resolution 64-114.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana hereby calls a special election to be held
on October 13, 1964, within the territory for which "SANTA CLARA
AND TUSTIN N. W. ANNEXATION" was by Resolution 64-90 and is hereby
designated as the name by which said territory shall be indicated
in the Notice of Election and on the election ballots; hereby finds
and declares that the value of the territory' proposed to be annexed
does not equal one-half of that within the City of Santa Ana as
shown on the last equalized assessment rolls, and that the number
of qualified electors of the territory does not equal one-half of
the number of electors within the City as shown by the County
Registration of Voters.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the proposition to be placed
upon the ballot for submission to the electors residing within said
territory shall be in words as follows:

of Santa Aha, California?

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Clerk ~the Council is
directed to provide for one polling place within said territory,
two judges and one inspector as officers of the election, and that
the polling place be equipped with the necessary paraphernalia,
ballots necessary to be used at the election, absentee ballots and
envelopes; to provide for the mailing of sample ballots and polling
place cards, and to publish the Notice of Election. The polls
shall be open between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. The
Clerk of the Council shall do all other things necessary for the
holding of this special election in accordance with the provisions
of the Annexation Act of 1913 (Government Code ~35100 et seq)and the
Elections Code of the State of California.
