HomeMy WebLinkAbout64-143RESOLUTION 64-143 CHANGING RESOLUTIONS 64-117 AND 64-131 TO PROVIDE A LONGER PERIOD DURING WHICH THE POLLS S~ALL BE OPEN FOR THE SPECIAL ELECTION ON THE QUESTION OF ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY DESIGNATED "SANTA CLARA AND TUSTIN N. W. ANNEXATION" WHEREAS, on August 3, 1964, the City Council adopted Resolution 64-117, the title of which referred to a special municipal election, and which Resolution fixed the hours during which the polls should be open as "between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M.", and adopted Resolution 64-131 on September 8, 1964, which Resolution in its first paragraph referred to the calling of "a special municipal election"; and WHEREAS, the word "municipal" is not appropriate in refer- ring to an annexation election and said polls should remain open between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Resolution 64-131 is hereby amended by deleting the word "municipal" in every case where it appears before the word "election", and Resolution 64-117 is hereby amended by deleting the word "municipal" therefrom in every case where it precedes the word "election", and the second sentence in the fourth paragraph thereof is amended to read as follows: The polls shall be open between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 21st day of September, 1964.
