CANVASS OF ELECTION RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS HELD IN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA,
CALIFORNIA, NOVEMBER 3RD, 1964
WHEREAS, the City Council by Ordinance NS-754 called a
special election to be held in the city of Santa Aha on November 3rd,
1964, to submit a proposition to amend Section 402 of the Charter
of the City of Santa Aha; and
WHEREAS, the proposition voted on at said election was in
words and figures as follows:

the City Council shall receive $250.00 : :
each month as compensation for his : :

and
WHEREAS, the City Council by Ordinance NS-755 provided for
and called a special municipal election to be held in the City of
Santa Ana on November 3rd, 1964, to submit to the voters a question
raised by referend~ra petition, and said electionwas duly consoli-
dated, and the election called by Ordinance NS-754 was duly
consolidated, with the State-wide General Election to be held upon
the same date; and
WHEREAS, the proposition voted upon at said election was in
words and figures as follows:

WHEREAS, a copy of the records as entered on the minutes of
the Board of Supervisors of Orange County showing the results of
the canvass of the returns of said special elections and absentee
votes cast thereat has been duly received.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council
hereby finds, determines and declares that the votes cast at said
special elections for arid against said propositions and the absentee
ballots cast for and against said propositions show the total of
all votes cast on each of said propositions and the total of said
votes for and against each of said propositions to be, and said
totals are, as follows:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That each of said Propositions failed
to receive the affirmative vote of a majority of the electors voting
~hereon and said two Propositions are hereby declared to have failed.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 7th day of December, 1964.
