THREE PARCELS OF REAL PROPERTY ON THE NORTH
SIDE OF SIXTH STREET BETWEEN FLOWER AND
SHELTON STREETS
WHEREAS, because of the rapid population growth in the entire
area of Orange County and in the City of Santa Ana, California,
there is an immediate and present need to acquire land for expansion
of the area known as the Civic Center for the location of public
buildings, structures and related utilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana does hereby find and declare that public interest
and necessity require the acquisition of a fee simple estate in and
to certain real property for Civic Center purposes and further
require that the City of San~a Ana have and acquire that certain
real property in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of
California, described as:
PARCEL A:
T'ne East 27 feet of Lot 10 and the West 14 feet of Lot 9
of Gil~uacher's Addition to the Town of Santa Ana, City
of Santa Ana, as sho~ on a map thereof recorded in
Book 23, Page 37 of ~iscellaneous Records of Los Angeles
County, California.
NOTE:
Said land is described on the County Tax Assessment
Roll for the fiscal year 1963-64 as A.P. No. 8-020-6,
CA 11-03.
PARCEL B:
Lot 11 and that portion of Lot 10 in Block B of Grouard's
Addition to the Town of Santa Aha, in the City of Santa
Ana, as per map recorded in Book 23, Page 38, Miscel-
laneous Records, in the office of the County Recorder of
Los Angeles County, California, and that portion of the
Julian Chavez Allotment, in the City of Santa Ana,
described as follows:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of Lot 11 in Block B
of Grouard's Addition; thence Nortn 159 feet; thence East
50 feet; thence South 159 feet and thence West 50 feet to
the point of beginning.
PARCEL C: (1)
Lot 7 and the West 3.85 feet of Lot 6 in Block B of
Grouards Addition to the Town of Santa Aha, as per
map recorded in Book 23, Page 38, ~iscellaneous
Records, in the office of the Countp Recorder of
Los Angeles County, California.
EXCEPT the West 3.08 feet of said Lot 7.

That portion of the land allotted to Julian Chavez in
decree of partition of the Rancho Santiago de Santa
Ana, recorded in Book "B" of Judgments of the 17th
Judicial District Court of California, in the City of
Santa Ana, described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the North line of Block B of
Grouards Addition to the Town of Santa Ana, as per
map recorded in Book 23, Page 38, Miscellaneous Records,
in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles
County, California, West 45.38 feet from the Northwest
corner of Lot 5 in said Block B; 'thence North 34.00
feet to a line parallel with and Northerly 34.00 feet
from said North line of Block B; thence West along
said parallel line to the Northerly prolongation of
the East line of the West 3.08 feet of Lot 7 in
Block "B"; thence Southerly 34.00 feet along said
northerly prolongation to the North line of said
Block B; thence Easterly along said North line to
'the point of beginning.
(3) That portion of the Julian Chavez Allotment, in the
City of Santa Ana, described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the North line of Block B of
Grouard's Addition, to the Town of Santa Ana, in the
City of Santa Ana, as shown on a map thereof recorded
in Book 23, Page 38, Miscellaneous Records of Los
Angeles County, California, said point being 4.62
feet East of the Northwest corner of Lot 5 in said
Block B; thence West along the North line of Lots 5
and 6 of said Block B, 50 feet; thence at right angles
North 34 feet; thence East and parallel with the North
line of said Block B, 50 feet; thence South 34 feet to
the point of beginning.

Lot 5 in Block B of Grouard's Addition to the Town of
Santa Ana, in the City of Santa Ana, as shown on a map
thereof recorded in Book 23, Page 38, ~iscellaneous
Records of Los Angeles County, California.
NOTE:
Said land is described on the County Tax Assessment
Roll for the fiscal year 1963-64 as A.P. No. 8-020-21
CA 11-003, as to Parcels 1 and 2, and
A;P. No. 8-020-14, CA 11-003 as to Parcels 3 and 4.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
1. 'l~at the City Attorney is hereby ordered to bring an action
in the name of the City to condemn said property necessary to be taken
and to do all things necessary to prosecute said action to final
determination;
2. That said public improvement is planned and located in a
manner which will be most compatible with the greatest public good
and the least private injury;
3. 'Uhat the City of Santa Ana is authorized, empowered, and
required to provide for public buildings and public grounds;
4. 't"nat said action in condemnation shall be taken in accord-
ance with the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure and the
Constitution of the State of California relating to eminent domain.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 1st day of February, 1965.
