HomeMy WebLinkAbout65-060RESOLUTION 65-60 APPROVING MAP AND DECLARING INTENTION TO VACATE PARTON AND GARNSEY STREETS BETWEEN SIXTH AND EIGHTH STREETS AND A 15-FOOT ALLEY RUNNING EAST AND WEST BETWEEN SAID TWO STREETS PROPOSED TO BE VACATED AND GIVING NOTICE OF HEARING THEREON WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended to the City Council that Parton and Garnsey Streets, as they exist between Sixth and Eighth Streets, and a 15-foot alley running east and west between Parton and Garnsey Streets should be vacated in order to facilitate future construction and development within the Civic Center area. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby approves the map attached hereto and orders the same filed with the original of this Resolution in the office of the Clerk of the Council; reference is hereby made to said map for the exterior boundaries of said rights of way proposed to be vacated. The City Council declares its intention to proceed with this vacation under the provisions of the Street Vacation Act of 1941 (§8300 through §8374 of the California Streets and Highways Code) to vacate portions of Parton and Garnsey Streets between Sixth and Eighth Streets and a 15-foot alley running east and west between Parton and Garnsey Streets, all within the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California, and described as: Those portions of Parton Street and Garnsey Street bounded northerly by a line parallel with and 55.00 feet south, measured at right angles from the monumented center line of Eighth Street and bounded southerly by a line parallel with and 30.00 feet north, measured at right angles from the center line of Sixth Street. Also the 15-foot alley bounded northerly by the south line of Lots 1 through 5 of Visel's Addition, as recorded in Book 3, Page 17, Miscellaneous 14aps, Records of Orange County, California. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That June 7, 1965, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Third and Main Streets, Santa Ana, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed street vacation and/or said alley vacation. The Clerk of the Council is hereby ordered to publish this Resolution once in The Register and the Director of Public Works is ordered to post notices of street vacation and alley vacation conspicuously along the line of said streets and said alley, stating the passage of this Resolution of Intention to Vacate and the time and place of hearing thereon. Said notices shall be posted not more than 300 feet apart and at least three such notices shall be posted. Both publication and posting shall be completed at least ten days before the date of said hearing.
