EASEMENTS FOR STREET PURPOSES ON EDINGER
AVENUE BETWEEN MAPLE AND STANDARD AND ON THE
SOUTH SIDE OF FIRST STREET, EAST OF GP~ND
WHEREASa the rapid~opulation growth in the City of Santa Ana
and the increased vehicular traffic require that Edinger Avenue be
opened between Maple Street and Standard Avenue and that First Street
be widened on the south side, east of Grand Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED= That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana hereby finds and declares that the public interest
and necessity require the acquisition of rights of wey for all the
purposes of a public street in, through, and over certain ~arcels
of real property in the City Of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State
of California, described as=
PARCEL 1:
The Southerly 28.00 feet of that portion of the land
allotted to F. W. Koll in Decree of Partition of the
Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana, recorded in Book B of
Judgments of the l?th Judicial District Court of Cali-
fornia, described as follows=
Beginning at a point distant South 89° 15' 09" West
546.60 feet and South 0° 34' 10" West 1320.01 feet fro~
the center line intersection of Standard Avenue and
McFadden Avenue, said point being the Northwesterly
corner of land described in a deed to the City of Santa
Ana, recorded July 25, 1955, in Book 3150, page 217 of
Official Records~ thence South 0° 37' 15" West 1127.70
feet to the Southwesterly corner of said land of the City
of Santa Ana~ thence North 89~ 22' 45" West 270.00 feet
along the Westerly prolongation of the Southerly line of
said land of the City of Santa Ana to the Westerly line
of land described in deed to A. H. Lyon recorded
January 4, 1919 in Book 313, page 25? of Deeds~ thence
North 0° 37' 15" East 1121.26 feet along said Westerly
line to the Southerly line of Tract No. 2626, as shown
on a map recorded in Book 86, pages 6, ? and 8 of
Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, California~
thence North 89° 15~ 09" East 2?0.08 feet along said
Southerly line to the point of beginning.
PARCEL
An easement for street purposes over a strip of land
56.00 feet in width, the center line of which is described
as follows=
CO~u~encing at the Southeast corner of Tract 266, as shown
on a map thereof recorded in Book 13 at page 39, Miscel-
laneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California, and
running thence South 89° 19~ 03" East along the Easterly
extensi~n of the center line of E~inger Avenue 40.00 feet
to the Easterly line Of the Pacific Electric Railway
Company right of way and to the true point of beginning~
thence South 89° 19' 03" East 35.?3 feet to the beginning
of a tangent curve concave Southerly having a radius of
4000.00 feet~ thence Easterl~ along the arc of said curve
through a central angle of 9v 03' 07" an arc distance of
631.94 feet to a point of reverse curvature~ thence Easterly
along the arc of a curve concave Northerly having a radius
of 4000.00 feet through a central angle of 9° 06~ 3?" an
arc distance of 636.02 feet to a tangent line and to the
Northwest corner of Tract 3594 as shown on a map thereof
recorded in Book 127 at pages 4 and 5 of Miscellaneous
Maps of said Orange County.

PARCEL
That portion of the North one-half (N½) of the Northeast
quarter (NE%) of Section 18, in Township 5 South, Range
9 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, deeded to
Charles Arthur Bennett by a deed recorded June 15, 1932,
in Book 558, Page 285, and by a deed to Charles Arthur i
Bennett recorded December 30, 1935, in Book 794, Page 285,
Official Records of Orange County, California, described
as follows:
C~encing at the Northeast corner of said Section 18;
thence West 243.89 feet along the North line of said
Section 18; thence South 30.00 feet to the TRUE POINT OF
BEGINNING; thence South 41.00 feet; thence West 163.74
feet to the beginning of a t~gent curve concave to the
Southeast and having a radius of 25.00 feet; thence
Southwesterly alongothe arc of said curve through a
central angle of 97 05' 11", an arc distance of 42.36
feet to a point of cusp in a tangent curve concave to
the Northeast and having a radius of 560.00 feet, a
radial line from said point of cusp bearing Sooth
82° 54' 49" West; thence Northwesterly along the arc of
said last mentioned curve through a central angle of
7° 05' 11" an arc distance of 69.26 feet; thence East
192.83 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM that portion previously dedicated
for street p~rposes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
1. That the City Attorney is hereby ordered to bring an action
in the name of the City of Santa Aha to condemn said property neces-
sary to be taken and to do all things necessary to prosecute said
action to final determination;
2. That the City of Santa Ana is authorized and empowered
to acquire, develop, maintain, improve and repair streets within
the City;
3. That said public improvements are planned and located in
a manner which will be most compatible with the greatest public good
and the least private injury;
4. That said action in condemnation shall be taken in accord-
ance with the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure and the
Constitution of the State of California relating to e~inent domain.
5. That public interest, necessity, and convenience require,
and it is hereby ordered, that said City take immediate possession
and use of the property herein ordered to be acquired for street
purposes upon compliance with the requirements of law applicable
thereto as righ~of way for public streets.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 17th day of May, 1965.
