INTENTION TO VACATE A 14-FOOT ALLEY BETWEEN
MAIN AND CYPRESS, SOUTH OF BISHOP, RESERVING
AN EASEMENT THEREIN FOR PUBLIC UTILITIES, AND
GIVING NOTICE OF HEARING THEREON
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department and the Planning Depart-
ment have joined with the owner of adjacent property in requesting
the vacation of an alley as shown on the map of Johnson's Addition
to Santa Aha.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby
approves the map attached hereto and orders the same filed with the
original of this Resolution in the office of the Clerk of the Council,
and reference is hereby made to said map for the exterior boundaries
of said right of way proposed to be vacated.
The City Council declares its intention to proceed under the
provisions of tt~ Street Vacation Act of 1941 (§8300 through ~8374
of the California Streets and Highways Code) to vacate that certain
alley right of way running north and south between Main Street and
Cypress Avenue, south of Bishop Street and reserving therein easements
for utility structures for the Pacific Telephone Company and the
Southern California Edison Company. Said alley right of way proposed
to be vacated lies in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State
of California, and is described as:
That certain alley, 14.00 feet in width, as shown on the
map of Johnson's Addition to Santa Ana, recorded in Book 26,
Page 55, of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County,
California;
RESERVING AND EXCEPTING from said street vacation an easement
and right of way for the Pacific Telephone Company in and over
the westerly eight (8) feet of the easterly twelve (12) feet
of that certain alley next hereinabove described for all the
purposes of installing, constructing, altering, adding to,
maintaining, replacing, and inspecting above-ground or
under-ground poles, guys, markers, wires, cables, or other
appliances necessary for the carrying on of the business of
said utility company;
AND RESERVING AND EXCEPTING from said street vacation an
easement and right of way for the Southern California Edison
Co~apany in and over the easterly five (5) feet of that
certain alley next hereinahove described for all the purposes
of installing, constructing, altering, adding to, maintaining,
replacing, and inspecting above-ground or under-ground poles,
guys, markers, wires, cables, or other appliances necessary
for the carrying on of the business of said utility company.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That these proceedings are taken
subject to the reservations and exceptions next hereinabove set out.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That September 20, 1965, at the hour
of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Third and Main Streets,
Santa Ana, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place for
hearing all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed
street vacation.

The Clerk of the Council is hereby ordered to publish this
Resolution once in The Register, and the Director of Public Works is
ordered to post notices of street vacation conspicuously along the
line of said street, stating the passage of this Resolution of
Intention to Vacate and the time and place of hearing thereon. Said
notices shall be posted not more than 300 feet apart and at least
three (3) such notices shall be posted. Both publication and posting
shall be completed at least ten (10) days before the date of hearing.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Aha at its regular meeting held on the 16th day of August, 1965.
