A PARCEL OF REAL PROPERTY AT THE SOUT~D~EST
CORNER OF FIFTH STREET AND VAN NESS AVENUE
WHEREAS, because of the rapid growth in the area of Orange
County and in the City of Santa Ana there is an immediate need to
acquire land for the expansion of the area known as the Civic
Center for the location of public buildings, structures, and related
utilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana does hereby find and declare that public interest
and necessity require the acquisition of fee simple title in and to
certain real property for Civic Center purposes and further require
that the City of Santa Ana have and acquire that certain real
property in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of
California, described as:
Lot 1, Block D of Ross Addition to Santa Ana, in the City of
Santa Ana, as per map thereof recorded in Book 3, Page 534,
Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
1. That the City Attorney is hereby ordered to bring an action
in the name of the City to condemn ssidproperty necessary to be taken
and to do all things necessary to prosecute said action to final
determination;
2. That said public improvement is planned and located in a
manner which will be most compatible with the greatest public good
and the least private injury;
3. That the City of Santa Ana is authorized, empowered, and
required to provide for public buildings and public grounds within
the City;
4.' That said action in condemnation shall be taken in
accordance with the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure and
the Constitution of the State of California relating to eminent domain.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the l~th day of November, 1965.
