STREET PURPOSES FOR FAIRVIEW STREET SOUTH OF
SEGERSTROM AVENUE TO ALTON STREET
WHEREAS, Fairview Street is p~esently proposed to be extended
south of Segerstrom Avenue to provide an artery for north and south
vehicular traffic.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana does hereby find and declare that the public
interest and necessity require that Fairview Street be extended
south of Segerstrom Avenue to Alton Street as shown on maps thereof
on file in the office of the Department of Public Works and herein
referred to for greater detail, and further require that said City
do have, take and acquire easements for street purposes over, through
and across certain lands in the City of Santa Aha, County of Orange,
State of California, described as:
PARCEL A:
An easement for street purposes over that portion of the
South half of Lot 4 of the Williams Tract, as shown on a
map thereof recorded in Book 30, Page 14, Deeds, records
of Los Angeles County, California, lying within the
following described property:
Parcel 1: A strip of land 30.00 feet in width the East
line of which is 7.5 feet Westerly, measured at right
angles,from the following described line:
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of
Segerstrom Avenue and Fairview Street as shown on a
Record of Survey map recorded in Book 66, at page 8, of
Records of Surveys, County of Orange, California, and
running thence Southerly in a straight line to a point
on the center line of Alton Street, formerly Talbert
Avenue, which is 1,115.00 feet Westerly, measured along
said center line of Alton Street, from the intersection of
the center lines of said Alton Street and Greenville
Street, formerly Old Ne~-port Road, said 30.00 foot strip
to be terminated Southerly by the South line of the
following described property:
Beginning at a point 250.00 feet North of the Southeast
corner of said Lot 4; thence West 680.00 feet; thence
South 150.00 feet to the North line of the Pacific Electric
Railroad right of way; thence West 1,176.56 feet, more or
less, to the West line of said Lot 4; thence North along
said West line to the Northwest corner of the South half
of said Lot 4; thence East along the North line of the
South half of said Lot 4 to the Northeast corner of said
South half; thence South to the point of beginning.
Parcel 2: An irregularly shaped parcel of land bounded
Westerly by the East line of Parcel 1; bounded Southerly
by the Easterly extension of the South line of Parcel 1;
and bounded Easterly by the following described line:
Beginning at a point on the East line of Parcel 1, said
point being 217.03 feet Northerly from the Southeast
corner of said Parcel 1, said point being a point on a
curve concave Easterly having a radius of 400.00 feet,
and tangent to said East line of Parcel 1; thence Southerly
along the arc of said curve through a central angle of
15° 44' 26" an arc distance of 109.89 feet to a point of
reverse curvature with a curve concave Westerly having a
radius of 400.00 feet; thence Southerly along the arc of
said curve through a central angle of 15° 43' 35" an arc
distance of 109.79 feet to the South line of Parcel 2.

Parcel 3: A strip of land bounded Southerly by the
Easterly extension of the South line of Parcels 1 and 2;
bounded Westerly by the East line of Parcel 2; bounded
Northerly by a line parallel with and 3.00 feet Northerly,
measured at right angles from said South boundary; and
bounded Easterly by a line which is parallel with and
59.5 feet Easterly, measured at right angles from the
East line of Parcel 1.
Parcel 4: A triangular shaped parcel of land bounded
Southerly by the North line of Parcel 3; bounded Westerly
by the East line of Parcel 2; bounded Easterly by a
straight line which is 31.67 feet long, said straight line
terminates Southerly at a point in the North line of
Parcel 3; and said straight line terminates Northerly at a
point on the East line of Parcel 2, and is tangent to said
East line at said point.
PARCEL B:
An easement for street purposes over that portion of the
North half of Lot 4 of the Williams Tract, as shown on a
map thereof recorded in Book 30, Page 14, Deeds, records
of Los Angeles County, California, lying within the
following described property:
A strip of land 30.00 feet in width the East line of
which is 7.5 feet Westerly, measured at right angles,
from the following described line:
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of
Segerstrom Avenue and Fairview Street as shown on a
Record of Survey map recorded in Book 66, at page 8, of
Records of Surveys, County of Orange, California, and
running thence Southerly in a straight line to a point
on the center line of Alton Street, formerly Talbert
Avenue, which is 1,115.00 feet Westerly, measured along
said center line of Alton Street, from the intersection
of the center line of said Alton Street and Greenville
Street, formerly Old Newport Road.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
1. That the City Attorney is hereby ordered to bring an
action in the name of the City of Santa Ana to condemn said property
necessary to be taken and to do all things necessary to prosecute
said action to final determination;
2. That the City of Santa Ana is authorized and empowered
to acquire, develop, maintain, improve, and repair streets within
the City;
3. l~at said public improvement is planned and located in
a manner which will be most compatible with the greatest public
good and the least private injury;
4. That said action in condemnation shall be taken in
accordance with the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure and
the Cons~tution of the State of California relating to eminent
domain;
5. That the public interest, necessity, and convenience
require, and it is hereby ordered, that said City take immediate
possession and use of the property herein ordered to be acquired
upon compliance with the requirements of law applicable thereto as
right of way for public street.
