HomeMy WebLinkAbout62-058RESOLUTION NO. 62-58 REQUESTING THE DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS TO WIDEN SOUTH MAIN STREET, STATE ROUTE 184, BETWEEN WARNER AVENUE AND NEWPORT AVENUE, TO PROVIDE FOUR LANES WHEREAS, the constantly increasing population in central Orange County, the increased volume of tourist vehicular traffic, and the general business and industrial growth is placing an increasingly heavy traffic volume on South Main Street, North of Newport Avenue. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Sant~that said City Council hereby formally requests the State Department of Public Works, Division of Highways, of the State of California, to provide for the widening of South Main street (State Route 184), between Warner Avenue on the North and Newport Avenue on the South, to provide four traffic lanes. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Clerk of the Council is instructed to deliver one certified copy of this Resolution to the Director of Public Works and to send copies to the Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce and to the Orange County Associated Chamber with letters requesting their assistance for this improvement of. the highways of the County.
