APRIL 7TH, 1962, TO BE CIVIC BEAUTIFICATION WEEK
AND CALLING UPON ALL CITIZENS OF AND PERSONS IN
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO DO THEIR PART TO MAKE
THIS A MORE BEAUTIFUL COMMUNITY
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has for many years been known
as a city of trees located in a pleasant valley backdropped by not
too distant mountains; and
WHEREAS, many of the structures in said City have been designed
and maintained in a manner to contribute to or not too greatly to
detract from the satisfying view throughout our City; and
WHEREAS, it has been the custom frc~ time to time to remind
ourselves that it is necessary to make a continuing effort to beautify
the structures and the surrounding site areas upon which they are
located.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby
declares April 1st to April 7th, 1962, as Civic Beautification Week,
and calls upon all citizens of and persons in the City of Santa Ana
to refrain from all stupid and undesirable practices, such as
littering, defacing_or damaging any property, thing or place within
the City and to lend some effort to the increased cleanliness and
external appearance and symmetry of their place of business or abode.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 5th day of March, 1962.
