APPROVING THE "LOUIS F~NCIS AMENDMENT" TO THE
CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA AND
URGING SUPPORT OF THE PETITION TO PLACE THE
PROPOSED AMENDMENT ON THE BALLOT
WHEREAS, many organizations are actively engaged in an
attempt to obtain signatures to an initiative petition for the
addition of Article XXVIII to the Constitution of the State of
California; and
WHEREAS, said Article is for the purpose of combatting
com~nunism within the State of California.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council
hereby approves the idea expressed in said Article XXVIII and urges
~ all citizens in the City to assist the many organizations and
individuals now working to obtain signatures to an initiative
~etition to afford the people of California an opportunity to vote
upon the issue of this Amendment and urges all registered voters to
sign one of the initiative petitions to insure that this measure
will be presented to the people to allow them to make their own
decision on the matter.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
on the 19th day of March, 1962.
