RESOLUTION NO. 627]
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA,
DECLARING THE I~ESULT OF THE CANVASS OF
ELECTION RETURNS OF SPECIAL BOND ELEC-
TION HELD IN SAID CITY ON MARCH 13, 1962.
The City Council of the Clt7 of Santa Aha,
Califo~nia, DOES I{F~EBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as
follows:
Section 1. That a special bond election was dulF
called and ~egularlF held in said citF on the 13th daf of
March,
19 62, at which election there was submitted
to the qualified voters of said cttF the following p~oposi-
rich, to wit:
REVENUE BOND PROPOSITION: Shall the City of Santa Ana
issue water revenue bonds in the maximum principal amount of
$6,950,000 for the acquisition and construction of additions to
the revenue producing water utility of the City of Santa Ana
(i.e. the water supply and distribution system) for which the
property to be acquired and the improvements or additions to be
made to the equipment for such revenue-producing utility shall
consist of works and facilities for the production, storage,
transmission and distribution of water, including water storage
reservoirs, water wells, pumping and pressure regulating stations,
water transmission and distribution mains, capacity rights in
works and facilities to be used Jointly with other public corpora-
tions, facilities of existing water companies; and for the fore-
going appurtenances and appurtenant works, and including the
acquisition of all water rights, lands, easements, pipe, pumps,
and other property necessary therefor; tge estimate of the
cost of the foregoing purposes being $6,930,000; the regula-
tions and procedures for the sale and issuance of such bonds
to be as set forth in the Revenue Bond Law of 1941 (Chapter 6,
Part l, Division 2, Title 5 of the Government Code of the State
of California); and the provision to be made from the revenue
of such revenue-producing utility for the payment of interest
on, and retirement of, the bonds to be that said bonds are
secured by and are payable from all of the revenues of said
utility as now or hereafter constituted, all as more particularly
set forth in said Revenue Bond Law of 19417

Section 2. That the returns of said election
have been duly and regularly canvassed by this City Council
as provided by law, and all absentee ballots received
have been counted and canvassed as provided by law.
Section 3. That the votes cast in the precincts
established for said election upon said proposition and
for and against said proposition, the absentee votes cast
upon said proposition and for and against said proposition,
and the total votes cast at said election for and against
said proposition and upon said proposition are as follows:

Section ~ That the votes of ~ a majority
X~ of all the voters voting at said election were cast
in favor of the adoption of said bond proposition~ and
said bond proposition is hereby declared to be carried,
and this City Council is authorized to issue bonds for
the purpose stated therein as provided by lawo
Section 5o That the City Clerk of this City is
hereby directed to enter this resolution in full in the
minutes of this City Council°

that the above and fore~oin~ resolution is a full, true and
correct statement of the facts of canvass of the special
bond election held in said city on 'the .13th day of March
1962 , and of the results thereof as declared by the City
Council of said city, and said resolution as entered in full
on the minutes of said City Council is hereby adopted by me
as my statement of the canvass of the returns of said election
and the results thereof.

ON CANVASS OF ELECTION RETURNS]
This being the time and place fixed for the
canvass of the returns of the special bond election held
on March 13 , 19 62, the returns of said election
(and the absentee votes cast at said election that have
been received) were duly and regularly canvassed as
provided by law.
It was moved by Councilman Heinly ,
seconded by Schlueter , and unanimously
carried, that the following resolution declaring the
result of said canvass be adopted, and that said resolu-
tion, together with the City Clerk's Statement, be set
forth in full on the minutes.
