HomeMy WebLinkAbout62-091RESOLUTION NO. 62-91 COMMENDING THE NATIONAL MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SOCIETY AND MRS. JOHN F. KENNEDY FOR THE "HIGHWAYS TO HOPE" PROJECT AND WISHING SUCCESS TO THE CAMPAIGN WHEREAS, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is sponsoring a National "Highways to Hope" program; and WHEREAS, the Hope Ches~ being symbolical of the annual Hope Chest campaign, is starting its journey from coast to coast by Grey- hound from the Disneyland Hotel, Southern California area, and stopping at other major cities across the country; and WHEREAS, the annual Hope Chest campaign is held to raise funds to financially support multiple sclerosis research, clinics, lay and professional education, and patient care -- all very worthy causes; and WHEREAS, the Hope chest will be presented to Mrs. John F. Kennedy, Honorary Chairman for the 1962 M.S. Hope Chest Campaign, at the White House after the completion of the "Highways to Hope" project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, California, does hereby extend its best wishes for the success of the National "Highways to Hope" project, and to Mrs. John F. Kennedy for a highly successful White House Campaign. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 7th day of May, 1962.
