HomeMy WebLinkAbout62-137RESOLUTION NO. 62-1~ REQUESTING DISSOLUTION OF
GARDEN GROVE SANITARY DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the GARDEN GROVE SANITARY DISTRICT when first estab-
lished, served a large area of unincorporated territory and served
a very necessary function in said territory; and
WHEREAS, since the formation of said District the territory
has ceased to be unincorporated in its nature and is now included
by incorporation and annexation in various cities; and
WHEREAS, the fact of the existence of said SANITARY DISTRICT
within the several cities has resulted in unnecessary expense by
reason of the creation of new sewer lines within said cities and the
automatic stopping of annexation to said DISTRICT so that District
lines are not now and can never be used to serve areas for which
they were originally built.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BYTHE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA: That in the interest of economy, efficient use
of sewerage facilities presently in existence, and economical and
orderly development of the area, said City Council respectfully re-
quests that the GARDEN GROVE SANITARY DISTRICT be dissolved and its
functions, facilities and assets be divided among the various cities
in which said DISTRICT now exists.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Clerk of the Council is di-
rected to send a copy of this Resolution to the GARDEN GROVE SANI-
TARY DISTRICT and to each of the cities in which said DISTRICT
presently exists.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
