HomeMy WebLinkAbout62-181RESOLUTION NO. 62-181 OF THE SANTA ANA CITY COUNCIL REQUESTING THAT THE CALIFORNIA STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE QUESTION OF RELOCATION OF THE CORONA DEL MAR FREEWAY WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has maintained a continuing interest in the South Main Street-MacArthur Boulevard direct route to Corona Del Mar and continues to believe that rapid and direct access to the Civic Center of Orange County is necessary and desirable for the citizens of Newport Beach and that direct road connection to said beach area is of importance to the entire central basin area of Orange County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Aha, California, hereby petitions and requests the CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY COb~4ISSION for a public hearing before said CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY COMMISSION on the location of Route 184, presently proposed as a freeway and cc~unonly known or referred to as Corona Del Mar Freeway, and petitions and requests said COMMISSION that the public hearing before it be held before the adoption of any realign- ment or any relocation of Route 184 is determined upon; that said public hearing be held in Orange County in an area conveniently adjacent to said Route 184. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Clerk of the Council is hereby instructed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY COMMISSION and a certified copy to ROBERT B. BRADFORD, Director of Public Works, State of California Department of Public Works, Sacramento, California.
