HomeMy WebLinkAbout62-199RESOLUTION NO. 62-199 INITIATING A SUBSTITUTION PROCEEDING TO S~STITUTE A NEW PUBLIC PARKING LOT FOR THE EXISTING PARKING LOT IN VEHICLE PARKING DISTRICT NO. i IN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA WHEREAS, heretofore a Vehicle Parking Districtwas formed under the Vehicle Parking District Law of 1943, was given the name and numerical designation of VEHICLE PARKING DISTRICT NO. 1} by Ordinance No. NS-?6 the exterior boundaries of said District were fixed and established, and thereafter the initial assessment was levied, the real property was acquired and improved and has since been used as a public parking lot, hereinafter referred to as the "old property"~ and WHEREAS, it now appears that because of change in circumstances since the levy of the initial assessment that a substitution proceeding is desirable and may be necessary to acquire, improve and establish a new parking lot in a new location and to dispose of the "old property". NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITYCOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANADOES RESOLVE, FIND AND DECLARE AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the name and number of the Parking District herein referred to was and is VEHICLE PARKING DISTRICT NO. 1, and that its exterior boundaries were fixed by Ordinance No. NS-?6. 2. That it is proposed, by way of substitution, to sell the existing Parking Lot known as the "old property" located on the South side of Sixth Street, between Bus. and Spurgeon Streets, and to acquire and improve for vehicle parking use real property located on the South side of Fifth Street, between Bush and Spurgeon streets, herein referred to as the "new proporty", which would have approximately the same area but be of irregular shape because of the vesting of title to the parcels of land involved. -1- ® (a) That an estimate of the current fair market value of the "old property" is $160,000.00. (b) That an estimate of the current fair market value of the "new property" is $185,000.00. (c) That an estimate of the cost of improvements necessary on said"new property" for parking purposes is $30,000.00. That notice is hereby given that December l?th , 1962, at the hour of 7=30 P.M. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Third and Main Streets, Santa Ana, California, is the time and place fixed at which said City Council will hear protests on the proposed substitution of the "new property" for the "old property" as a public parking lot for VEHICLE PARKING DISTRICT NO. 1. Not later than the hour set for hearing,any interested persons may file with the Clerk of the Council written objeution to the proposed substitution. It is requested that each person desiring to make an objection or protest to the proposed substitution describe the land owned by him or her which is within the boundaries of VEHICLE PARKING DISTRICT NO. 1, furnish assessor's parcel number of such property or give a general description with dimensions and location of such property so that such protest or objection can be properly evaluated. Each such protest or objection should be signed by the person or persons owning land within said District and it is requested that the owners name be p~ted beneath his or her signature. For the information of all intersted persons, the exterior boundaries of VEHICLE PARKING DISTRICT NO. 1, as fixed by Ordinance No. NS-?6, are as follows= Fourth Street on the South, Spurgeon Street on the East, Seventh Street on the North and Main Street on the West. -2- PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 5th day of November, 1962, after report and rec~mnendation by the Board of Parking Place Co~missioners.
