TRATOR AND GRANTING A VARIANCE ON VARIANCE APPLICATION
NO. 1690 FILED BY JULIAN A. BOWLES, SUBJECT TO
CONDITIONS
WHEREAS, after hearing on notice, the Zoning Administrator
denied a Variance on Variance Application No. 1690, filed by JULIAN
A. BOWLES to construct an eight-unit apartment building at 417 East
Chestnut Street, Santa Ana, California, in an R-2 District; and
WHEREAS, Appeal Application NO. 73 was duly filed by the
applicant requesting a hearing on said Variance Application No. 1690
before the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, after public hearing on notice, has
determined that the Zoning Administrator's decision should be overruled
and that said variance should be granted, subject to conditions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Aha hereby grants a variance on Variance Application
No. 1690 to permit the property located at 417 East Chestnut Street in
the Cl~y of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California, described
Lot 11 and the East half of Lot 10 in Block F of Peter
Spurgeon and Lee Addition, as shown on a map thereof
recorded in Book 14, Page 18, records of Los Angeles County,
as:
in an R-2 District to be used for the construction of an eight-unit
apartment building. Said variance is granted subject to conditions
as follows:
That prior to the issuance of a building permit, a
1.5 foot easement be provided for the alley at the
rear of the property included in this application.
'I~nat prior to the issuance of utilities release by
the Building Department the owner shall provide
sanitary sewer and storm drain facilities to meet
with the approval of the Department of Public Works.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 3rd day of December, 1962.
