OF REAL PROPERTY FOR RESERVOIR AND WWJ.T. SITE
WHEREAS, the City is now in the process of expanding, enlarging and
improving its system of water works, storage and supply within the limits of
Santa Ana and has immediate need for a reservoir site on the property herein
described.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana hereby finds and determines that the public necessity and interest
require that certain parcel of land herein described be acquired as a reservoir
site and for appurtenant water works installations, including pipes, valves and
well, to provide for the rapidly increasing demand for domestic water; and
further require that the City do have, take and acquire in fee simple for said
purpose that certain land in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of
California, described as:
That portion of the Northeast one-quarter of Lot 14 in
Block "D" of the A. B. Chapman Tract as surveyed by Frank
L. Lecouvreur in 1870 and shown on a map recorded in Book
102, Page 15 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of said Orange
County, described as follows:
Beginnin~ at a point on the center line of Cambridge Street,
said point being North 0O 55' ~l" East 787.98 feet from the
intersection of the center line of said Cambridge Street
with the center line of Fairhaven Avenue, thence North
89° Oh' 19" West 180 feet, thence North O° 55' ~l" East 50.97
feet, thence North 73° 28' 12" East 188.69 feet to a point
on the center line of Cambridge Street, which lies North
O° 55' h~' East 107.58 feet from the point of beginning;
thence South 0° 55' h~' West 107.58 feet along the center
line of Cambridge Street to the point of beginning.
E~CEPTING that portion previously dedicated for street.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the public interest, necessity and
convenience require, and it is hereby ordered, that the City of Santa Ana,
a municipal corporation, take immediate possession and use of the property
herein ordered to be acquired upon complying with the requirements of law
applicable thereto; that the City Attorney report to the Director of Finance
the amount of money required therefore and that the Director of Finance shall
deposit said amount with the Clerk of the Court for such possession.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
1. That the City of Santa Ana, California, a municipal
corporation, is authorized and empowered to provide for the instal-
lation and maintenance of & water works system to supply water to
the citizens, businesses and industries within said City and to
acquire by eminent domain necessary property under the circumstances
hereinabove set out.
2. That said City Council hereby finds and declares that the
public improvement herein being provided for is planned and located
in a manner which will be most compatible with the greatest public
good and the least private injury.
3. That the City Attorney is hereby ordered to bring an action
in the name of the City of Santa Aha in the Superior Court of the
State of California, in and for the County of Orange, to condemn the
property herein described, and to do all things necessary to prosecute
said action to final determination.
4. That said action for condemnation herein ordered shall
be taken in accordance with the provisions of the Code of Civil
Procedure and the Constitution of the State of California relating
to eminent domain.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 3rd day of December, 1962.
