AN UNNAMED ALLEY BETWEEN MAIN AND BUSH STREETS,
NORTH OF TWENTIETH STREET, AND RESERVING PUBLIC
UTILITY EASEMENTS
WHEREAS, on December 17, 1962, the City Council adopted
Resolution No. 62-236 declaring intention to vacate the unnamed
alley herein described and to reserve therein public utility
easements; and
WHEREAS, on January 21st, 1963, a public hearing was duly
held on said question of alley vacation on posted notices and the
publication of said Resolution No. 62-236.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby
finds that the unnamed alley herein described is unnecessary for
present or prospective street purposes and hereby makes its order
vacating and abandoning for street purposes that certain unnamed
alley in the City of Santa Ana, California, described as:
An unnamed alley, 14.75 feet in width, located between
Lots 1 and 2 of the Phelps subdivision North of Twentieth
Street, bounded on the East by the Northerly extension of
the East line of said Lot 2 and bounded on the West by a
line parallel to and 45 feet East, measured at right angles,
from the surveyed center line of Main Street.
RESERVING AND EXCEPTING from said vacation a permanent easements for
the use of Southern California Edison Company and the City of Santa
Ana for public utility structures and installations, to maintain a
12 KV feeder line, poles, cables, conduits and other facilities for
the transmission of electrical energy, and underground pipes, man
holes and other facilities for water and sanitary sewer purposes,
together with the right to repair, maintain, inspect, operate, recon-
struct said facilities in all parts of said vacated area.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That before the surface area of said
alley may be used for parking, maneuvering or other non-permanent
surface use, the alley drive approaches at both Main and Bush Streets
shall be removed and standard curb, gutter and sidewalks constructed
across the entrances.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 21st day of January, 1963.
