PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA, DESIGNATING AN APPROPRIATE
NAME FOR SAID TERRITORY OF "EAST FIRST STREET
ANNEX NO. 1" AND GIVING NOTICE OF PROTEST HEARING
THEREON
WHEREAS, heretofore the Boundary Commission of Orange County
has approved the description of territory hereinbelow contained for
the purpose of annexation to the City of Santa Aha, California, and
a petition requesting annexation of said territory, signed by the
owners of all of said territory, has been presented to the City
Council. The Santa Ana Planning Commission has approved the annexa-
tion of said territory.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby
declares its intention to annex all of the territory heretnbelow
described under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939; hereby finds and declares that all of the
owners of said territory have petitioned for annexation to Santa Aha;
that said territory is uninhabited within the meaning of Government
Code Section 35303 on the date of the adoption of this Resolution;
that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Aha, lies in
the county of Orange, State of California, and is described as:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of the East half of
Block "C" of the Stafford and Tustin Tract as shown on
a map thereof recorded in Book 2, Pages 618 and 619 of
Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California,
said corner being a point on the existing boundary of
the City of Santa Aha, said corner being on the South
line of First Street, said South line being 33 feet South,
measured at right angles, fro~ the center line of First
Street, said corner being Easterly 1378.00 feet, more or
less, fr~ the Southerly extension of the center line of
Mabury Street, measured along said South line and running
thence North 89° 32' 45" East along said South line and
along said existing City boundary 338.25 feet, more or
less, to the Northeast corner of said Lot C; thence
departing from said City boundary South 0° 27' 15" East
along the East line of said Lot C 1120.11 feet, more or
less, to the North line of that certain property conveyed
to the State of California by deed recorded July 12, 1954,
in Book 2768, Page 59 of Official Records of Orange County,
California; thence, North 68~ 41' 16" West along said
North line 364.22 feet, more or less, to the West line of
the East half of said Lot C; thence, North 0* 27' 15" West
along said West line of the East half of said Lot C,
985.05 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That "EAST FIRST STREET ANNEX NO. 1"
is hereby designated as an appropriate name by which said territory
shall be known for the purpose of this annexation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That notice is hereby given that
April i~ 1963, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers,
City Hall, Third and Main Streets, Santa Ana, California, is the
time and place fixed at which said Council will hear written protests
against this annexation made by any person owning property within
said territory. At any time before said hearing, any owner of real
property within said territory may file written protest against this
proposed annexation. Such protest shall state the name of the owner
of the property affected and the description and area of the property
in general terms, all as provided for in the California Government
Code, ~ection 35312.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Aha at its regular meeting held on the 4th day of March, 1963.
