A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA DETERMINING AND DECLARING TEAT WEEDS
WHICH WHEN MATURE BEAR WINGY OR DOWNY SEEDS WHICH
WILL ATTAIN SUCH A LARGE GROWTH AS TO BECOME A
FIRE MENACE ~ht~N DRY, OR WHICH ARE NOXIOUS OR
DANGEROUS, ARE GROWING UPON CERTAIN STREETS,
SIDEWALKS, AND PRIVATE PROPERTY IN SAID CITY OF
SANTA ANA, AND ARE A PUBLIC NUISANCE: DIRECTING
THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO POST NOTICES TO
DESTROY SAID WEEDS AS REQUIRED BY LAW: FIXING
THE TIME FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS AND PROTESTS, AND
DIRECTING THE ABATE THEREOF IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CHAPTER 13, PART 2, DIVISION 3, TITLE 4 OF THE
GOVERNMENT CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 ~
Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 13, Part 2, Division 3, Title 4
of the Government Code of the State of California, the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana hereby determines and declares that weeds which
when mature bear wingy or downy seeds, which will attain such a large
growth as to become a fire menace when dry or which are otherwise
noxious or dangerous, are growing upon certain streets, sidewalks
and private property in said City, and are hereby declared to be a
public nuisance, and that the names of such streets as they are
cnmmonly known are hereinafter set forth and the property fronting
upon such streets or sidewalks, or in front of which such nuisance
exists are hereinafter particularly described by lot and block
numbers according to the official assessment map:
SECTION 2: The Director of Public Works of the City of Santa Aha is hereby
instructed to prepare and post notices to destroy said weeds as required by
law. Said notices shall be posted at least five (5) days prior to the time
for hearing objections and protests by the City Council of said City, and
shall be conspicuously posted in front of the property on which, or in
front of which such nuisance exists, one notice to each piece or parcel of
property in separate ownership of not over fifty (50) feet frontage, or not
more than two notices to any piece or parcel of property in separate owner-
ship with a frontage of one hundred (100) feet or less. If the frontage of
any piece or parcel of property in separate ownership is greater than 100
feet, notices shall be posted at not more than one hundred (100) feet in
distance apart.
SECTION 3: The City Council does hereby fix the 6th day of May, 1963, at
7:30 o'clock P.M. as the time and the Council Chamber in the City Hall of
said City, as the place, for hearing objections and protests to the proposed
removal of such weeds.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA at its
regular meeting held on the 1st day of April, 196~.
