OBJECTING TO THE SALE OF TWO PARCELS OF TAX
DEEDED PROPERTY
WHEREAS, the Tax Collector of Orange County, California,
is about to sell certain real property within the City of Santa Aha,
a municipal corporation, which said property is needed by the City
for street purposes for the location of an alley; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Aha is a taxing agency, taxes of
which City are collected by the County of Orange through the County
Tax Collector, and unpaid taxes resulting in the tax sales of the
properties herein referred to have resulted in part from taxes
levied by said City on said two parcels of real property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED~BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA: That said City objects to the proposed sales of
said two parcels of real property for the reason that~ each parcel
is needed for street purposes for the location of an alley in said
City and should not be sold to private ownership; that a sale to
private ownership would require said City to proceed in an action
in eminent dc~ain to acquire said property for public street purposes;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Mayor and the Clerk of the
council are hereby authorized and directed to execute the Agreement
on behalf of the City, a copy of said Agreement between the City and
the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange for purchase of
said two parcels of real property by the City is attached hereto;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City agrees to pay the
price shown on Exhibit A of said Agreement and set opposite the
description of the parcel of real property in each case, and, in
addition, to pay the cost of giving notice of said Agreement as
provided for by Section 3800 of the California Revenue and Taxation
Code.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 15th day of April, 1963.
