FOR ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA, DESIGNATING AN APPROPRIATE NAME
FOR SAID TERRITORY OF "BRISTOL STREET AND
GARDEN GROVE FREEWAY S.W. ANNEX" AND GIVING
NOTICE OF PROTEST HEARING THEREON
WHEREAS, at the request of property owners in the territory
herein described, a description and map of said territory were pre-
sented to the Santa Ana Planning Commission, which approved annex-
ation of said territory, and to the Orange County Boundary Commission
which caused a report to be prepared finding that the boundaries of
said proposed annexation met with the approval of the Orange County
Surveyor's Office in respect to Government Code Section 35002.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana hereby initiates proceedings for annexation
of said territory, herein described, to the City of Santa Ana for
the following reasons:
That the said territory can best be served by the City
of Santa Ana with municipal services of the highest
quality anywhere obtainable at a cost for such services
which is lower than can be obtained anywhere else in
the County of Orange.

That it is to the mutual advantage of the City and the
land owners that said territory become a part of said
City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby declares
its intention to annex all of the territory hereinbelow described
under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act
of 1939; hereby finds and declares that said territory is uninhabited
within the meaning of Government Code Section 35303 on the date of
the adoption of this Resolution; that said territory is contiguous
to the City of Santa Ana, lies in the County of Orange, State of
California, and is described as:
Commencing at the center line intersection of Memory Lane
(Garden Grove Blvd.) and Bristol Street, said center line
intersection being the Southeast corner of Lot 25 of the
Potts, Borden and Sidwell Tract as shown on a map thereof
recorded in Book 4, Page 624 of Miscellaneous Records in
the Office of the County Recorder Of the County of Los
Angeles, and running thence North 1° 09' 23" East along
the center line of said B~istol Street, as said center
line was establishedby a deed conveyed to the County of
Orange recorded in Book 2750, Page 366, Official Records
of Orange County, a distance of 535.92 feet to the inter-
section of said center line of Bristol Street with the
existing City Boundary, as said boundary was established
by the "Memory Lanea~d Westwood North Annex" Ordinance
No. NS-568 to the City of Santa Ana; thence, North 88° 59'
17" West along said existing City Boundary to a line
parallel with and 40.00 feet Westerly, measured at right
angles, from said center line of Bristol Street, said
parallel line being the westerly line of said Bristol Street
and to the true Point of be~innin~; thence, departing
from said City Boundary North 1° 09' 23" East along said
parallel line and along said westerly line of Bristol
Street a distance of 609.47 feet to a point described as
the "true point of beginning" in a deed to the State of
California, Division of Highways, recorded December 15,
1961, in Book 5944, Pages 943 through 949 inclusive of

Official Records of said Orange County; thence, North 14°
48' 25" West a distance of 109.08 feet to a point on a
non-tangent curve concave Easterly and having a radius of
1,470.00 feet; thence, northerly along said curve from a
tangent which bears North 1° 09' 23" East through a central
angle of 19° 40' 38", an arc distance of 504.85 feet to a
non-tangent curve concave southwesterly having a radius of
25.00 feet; thence, northwesterly along said last-mentioned
curve, from a tangent which bears North 49° 43' 48" West,
through a central angle of 39° 06' 50" an arc distance of
17.07 feet to a tangent line; thence North 88° 50' 38" West
along said tangent line a distance of 138.59 feet to a
tangent curve concave northeasterly, having a radius of
180.00 feet; thence, northwesterly along said last mentioned
curve, through a central angle of 69° 50' 28", an arc
distance of 219.41 feet to the line described in the deed
to the Orange County Flood Control District recorded in
Book 5726, Page 405 of official Records of said Orange
County; thence, South 24° 23' 23" West along said last
described line, a distance of 1,051.84 feet, more or less,
to an angle point in said described line; thence, South
14° 52' 43" West a distance of 391.45 feet to said existing
City Boundary; thence, along said existing City Boundary
South 88~ 59' 17" East, a distance of 769.23 feet to the
true Point of be~inninq.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That "BRISTOL STREET AND GARDEN
GROVE FREEWAY S. W. ANNEX" is hereby designated as an appropriate
name by which said territory shall be known for the purpose of
this annexation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That notice is hereby given that
June 17, 1963, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers,
City Hall, Third and Main Streets, Santa Ana, California, is the
t/me and place fixed at which said Council will hear written
protests against this annexation made by any person owning property
within said territory. At any time before said hearing, any owner
of real property within said territory may file written protest
against this proposed annexation. Such protest shall state the name
of the owner of the property affected and a description of the
property sufficient to identify it on the last equalized assessment
roll, all as provided for in the California Goverr~ent Code,
Section 35312.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 6th day of May, 1963.
