ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA,
DESIGNATING AN APPROPRIATE NAME FOR SAID TERRITORY
OF "EAST FIRST STREET ANNEX NO. 3" AND GIVING
NOTICE OF PROTEST HEARING THEREON
WHEREAS, at the request of property owners in the territory
herein described, a description and map of said territory were
presented to the Santa Aha Planning C~ission, which approved
annexation of said territory, and to the Orange County Boundary
Commission, which caused a report to be prepared finding that the
boundaries of said proposed annexation met the approval of the
Orange County Surveyor's Office in respect to Government Code
Section 35002.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
city of Santa Ana hereby initiates proceedings for annexation of
said territory, herein described, to the City of Santa Ana for the
following reasons:
That the said territory can best be served by the City
of Santa Ana with municipal services of the highest
quality anywhere obtainable at a cost for such services
which is lower than can be obtained anywhere else in
the County of Orange.
That it is to the mutual advantage of the City and the
land owners that said territory become a part of said
City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby declares
its intention to annex all of the territory hereinbelow described
under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act
of 1939; hereby finds and declares that said territory is uninhabited
within the meaning of Government Code Section 35303 on the date of
the adoption of this Resolution; that said territory is contiguous
to the City of Santa Ana, lies in the County of Orange, State of
California, and is described as:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of the East half of
Block "C" of the Stafford and Tustin Tract as shown on
a map thereof recorded in Book 2, Pages 618 and 619 of
Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California,
said corner being an angle point on the existing boundary
of the City of Santa Ana, as established by the "East First
Street No. 1 Annex", said corner being on the South line
of East First Street, said South line being 33.00 feet
South, measured at right angles, from the center line of
East First Street, said corner being East 1,378 feet, more
or less, from the Southerly extension of the center line
of Mabury Street, measured along said South line, and running
thence South 0° 27' 15" East, 985.05 feet along the West
line Of said East half of Lot "C" of said Stafford and
Tustin Tract, and along said boundary of the City of Santa
Ana to a point on the North line of that certain property
conveyed to the State of California by deed recorded
July 12, 1954, in Book 2768, Page 59, of Official Records
of Orange County, California, and to an angle point in said
East First Street No. I Annex and to a point in a curve
concave Northeasterly, having a radius of 1,920.00 feet.
A radial to said curve at said point bears North 28° 21'
36" East; thence departing from said City Boundary Northwest
along said curve through a central angle of 12° 46' 00", an
arc distance of 427.82 feet to a radial bearing North 41°
07' 36" East and to a point on the East line of Block "B"
of said Stafford and Tustin Tract; thence, along said West

line South 0° 29' 35" East, 490 feet, more Or less, to
the Southeast corner of said Block "B"; thence, West 350
feet, more or less, along the South line of said Block
"B" to an angle point in said City Boundary as established
by Ordinance No. NS-297 and to the Southwest cor~er of
Lot 4 of Tract No. 24 as shown on a map thereof recorded
in Book 9, Page 23, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of said
Orange County; thence North along the East boundary of said
Ordinance No. NS-297 Annex and along the West line of
Lots 2 and 4 of said Tract No. 24 a distance of 1,014.13
feet, more or less, to & point which is South 220.73 feet,
more or less, fr~ the North line of said Block "B" and to
the Southerly corner of land conveyed to Lawrence A.
Whitesides by deed recorded August 21, 1961, in Book 5821,
Page 964, Official Records of said orange County; thence,
North 30° 01' 22" West 121.29 feet along said City Boundary;
thence, North 8° 43' 22" West 69.15 feet, along said City
Boundary; thence, North 47° 16' 59" East 69.57 feet, along
said City Boundary to a point on the North line of said
Block "B" and to the Northeast corner of land annexed by
said Ordinance No. NS-297; thence, East along said North
line of Block "B" and Block "C" 706.38 feet, more or less,
and along said City Boundary to the point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That "EAST FIRST STREET ANNEX
NO. 3" is hereby designated as an appropriate name by which said
territory shall be known for the purpose of this annexation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That notice is hereby given that
June 17, 1963, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers,
City Hall, Third and Main Streets, Santa Ana, California, is the
time and place fixed at which said Council will hear written
protests against this annexation made by any person owning property
within said territory. At any time before said hearing, any owner
of real property within said territory may file written protest
against this proposed annexation. Such protest shall state the
name of the owner of the property affected and a description of the
property sufficient to identify it on the last equalized assessment
roll, all as provided for in the California Goverr~ent Code,
Section 35312.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City o f Santa
Aha at its regular meeting held on the 6th day of Mayw 1963.
