FOR ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA, DESIGNATING AN APPROPRIATE NAME
FOR SAID TERRITORY OF "BRISTOL STREET AND
GARDEN GROVE FREEWAY SOUTHEAST ANNEX" AND
GIVING NOTICE OF PROTEST HEARING THEREON
WHEREAS, at the request of property owners in the territory
herein described, a description and map of said territory were pre-
sented to the Santa Ana Planning Commission, which approved annex-
ation of said territory, and to the Orange County Boundary Commission,
which caused a report to be prepared finding that the boundaries of
said proposed annexation met with the approval of the Orange County
Surveyor's Office in respect to Government Code Section 35002.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Aha hereby initiates proceedings for annexation of said
territory, herein described, to the City of Santa Aha for the following
reasons:
That the said territory can best be served by the City
of Santa Aha with municipal services of the highest
quality anywhere obtainable at a cost for such services
which is lower than can be obtained anywhere else in
the County of Orange.
That it is to the mutual advantage of the City and the
land owners that said territory become a part of said
City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby declares
its intention to annex all of the territory hereinbelow described
under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act
of 1939; hereby finds and declares that said territory is uninhabited
within the meaning of Government Code Section 35303 on the date of
the adoption of this Resolution; that said territory is contiguous
to the City of Santa Ana, lies in the County of Orange, State of
California, and is described as:
Co~encing at the center line intersection of Memory Lane
(Garden Grove Boulevard) and Bristol Street, said center
line intersection being the Southwest corner of Lot 14 of
the Potts, Borden and Sidwell Tract as shown on a map thereof
recorded in Book 4, Page 624, Miscellaneous Records of Los
Angeles County, California, and running thence North 0° 14'
50" East along the center line of said Bristol Street, as
said center line was established by a deed conveyed to the
County of Orange, recorded in Book 2750, Page 366, Official
Records of Orange County, a distance of 535.92 feet to the
intersection of said center line of Bristol Street with the
existing City boundary of the City of Santa Aha, as said
boundary was established by the "Bristol Street and Memory
Lane N. Annex", Ordinance No. NS 479, to the City of Santa
Ana, and to the tr~e ~ of ~; thence along the
following eleven courses which are alon~ the existing City
of Santa Aha boundary; thence South 89v 53' 50" East, a
distance of 587.78 feet to the West line of the "Memory
Lane and Baker North No. 2 Annex", Ordinance No. NS 451, to
said City; thence North 0° 01' 50" East along said West line
a distance of 64.08 feet to the North line of said "Memory
Lane and Baker Street North No. 2 Annex"; thence South 89-
53' 50" East along said North line and along the North line
of the "Memory Lane and Westwood North Annex", Ordinance
NS 568, to said City, a distance of 738.00 feet to the West
line of the "Spurgeon Memorial Annex", Ordinance No. NS 111,
to said City, and to the East line of said Lot 14; thence
North 0° 01' 50" East along said East line of said Lot 14,
a distance of 60.98 feet to the North line of said "Spurgeon
Memorial Annex"; thence South 89° 59' 55" East along said
last mentioned North line and along the North line of the
"Christesen Annexation", Ordinance No. NS 32, to said City,
a distance of 1,146.43 feet, more or less, to the West line
of the "North Flower Addition" annexation, Ordinance No. 874,
said West line being 180.00 feet West, measured at right
angles, from the monumented center line of Flower Street,
said North line of the "ChristesenAnnexation" being the
North line of Tract No. 2089, as shown on a map thereof
recorded in Book 60, Pages 6, 7, and 8, Miscellaneous Maps,
Records of Orange County, California; thence North 0° 12' 40"
West along said last mentioned West line a distance of
660.95 feet, more or less, to the South line of the "Schulman
Annexation", Ordinance No. NS 18, to said City, said South
line being the South line of Lot 15 of said Ports, Borden and
Sidwell Tract, and said South line being the South line of
Tract No. 1939, as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 65,
Pages 10, 11, and 12, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange
County, California; thence South 89~ 48' 30" West along the
last mentioned South line a distance of 1,523.64 feet, more
or less, to the Southwest corner of Lot 16 of said Potts,
Borden and Sidwell Tract, and to the West line of said
"Schulman Annexation" and to the West line of said Tract 1939;
thence North 0° 00' 40" East along the last mentioned West
line a distance of 662.30 feet to the North line of said
"Schulman Annexation", and to the Northwest corner of said
Tract No. 1939, said corner also being the Northwest corner
of said Lot 16, and to a point on the South line of the
"Freeway Annex", Ordinance No. NS 123, to City; thence North
89° 53' 20" West along said last mentioned South line, a
distance of 862.62 feet, more or less, to the Southwest
corner of Lot 20 of said Potts, Bogen and Sidwell Tract;
thence North 10° 50' 00" East along the West line of said
Lot 20 and along the West line of said "Freeway Annex" a
distance of 673.94 feet to the common corner of Lots 20, 22,
28, and 29 of said Potts, Borden and Sidwell Tract; thence
North 0° 49' 23" West along the West line of said Lot 29, a
distance of 340 feet, more or less, to the Southeast line of
that certain parcel of land described in a deed to the Orange
County Flood Control District, recorded June 2, 1960, in
Book 5270, Page 92, Official Records of Orange County,
California, said Southeast line being parallel with and 315.00
feet Southeast, measured at right angles, from the center line
of that certain easement conveyed to the County of Orange
May 25, 1932, and recorded in Book 557, Page 264 of said
Official Records; thence departing from said City boundary, as
established by said"Freeway Annex" and running South 23° 40'
40" West, more or less, along said Southeast line a distance
of 360 feet, more or less, to a point on the North line of
said Lot 28, said point being the most Southeast corner of
said parcel of land to the Orange County Flood Control District;
thence North 89° 58' 20" West along said last mentioned North
line a distance of 25.00 feet, more or less, to that certain
line as described in a deed to the Orange County Flood Control
District recorded in Book 5726, Page 405 of said Official
Records; thence South 23° 38' 50" West along said last
mentioned line a distance of 831.70 feet, more or less, to an
angle point in the existing City boundary as established by
the "Bristol Street and Garden Grove Freeway S.W. Annex",
Ordinance NO. NS 665, to said City and to a point on a non-
tangent curve, concave Northeasterly having a radius of
180.00 feet, the radial to said curve at said angle point
bears North 70° 05' 19" East; thence along the following
seven courses which are along the existing City of Santa Aha
boundary; thence Southeast along said existing City boundary
and along said last mentioned non-tangent curve through a
central angle of 69° 50' 28" an arc distance of 219.41 feet
to a tangent line; thence South 89° 45' 09" East along said
tangent line a distance of 138.59 feet to a tangent curve

concave Southwesterly and having a radius of 25.00 feet; thence
along said last mentioned tangent curve through a central
angle of 39° 06' 50" an arc distance of 17.07 feet to a
point on a non-tangent curve, said last mentioned non-tangent
curve being concave Easterly and having a radius of 1,470.00
feet, the radial to said last mentioned non-tangent curve
at said point, bears North 70° 04' 32" West; thence South
along said last mentioned non-tangent curve through a central
angle of 19° 40' 38" an arc distance of 504.85 feet to its
intersection with a non-tangent line; thence South 15° 42'
58" East, a distance of 109.08 feet to the West line of said
Bristol Street as described in a deed to said County of Orange,
recorded in said Book 2750; thence South 0° 14' 50" West
along said West line of Bristol Street, a distance of 609.47
feet to the North line of said "Bristol and Memory Lane N.
Annex"; thence South 89~ 53' 50" East along said last mentioned
North line, a distance of 40.00 feet to the true Dolnt of
be~innin~.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That "BRISTOL STREET AND GARDEN GROVE
FREEWAY SOUTHEAST ANNEX" is hereby designated as an appropriate name
by which said territory shall be known for the purpose of this.
annexation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That notice is hereby given that
September 16, 1963, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers,
City Hall, Third and M~in Streets, Santa Aha, California, is the
time and place fixed at which said council will hear written
protests against this annexation made by any person owning property
within said territory. At any time before said hearing, any owner
of real property within said territory may file written protest
against this proposed annexation. Such protest shall state the name
of the owner of the property affected and a description of the
property sufficient to identify it on the last equalized assessment
roll, all as provided for in the California Government Code,
Section 35312.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 5th day of August, 1963.
