FOR ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA, DESIGNATING AN APPROPRIATE
NAME FOR SAID TERRITORY OF "SANTA CLARA
AND WRIGHT S.E. ANNEX" AND GIVING NOTICE
OF PROTEST HEARING THEREON
WHEREAS, at the request of property owners in the territory
herein described, a description and map of said territory were
presented to the Santa Ana Planning Commission, which approved
annexation of said territory, and to the Orange County Boundary
Com~ission, which caused a report to be prepared finding that the
boundaries of said proposed annexation met with the approval of
the Orange County Surveyor's Office in respect to Government Code
Section 35002.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Santa Aha hereby initiates proceedings for annexation
of said territory, herein described, to the City of Santa Aha for
the following reasons:
That said territory can best be served by the City of
Santa Aha with municipal services of the highest quality
anywhere obtainable at a cost ~or such services which is
lower than can be obtained anywhere else in the County
of Orange;
That it is to the mutual advantage of the City and the
landowners that said territory become a pert of said
City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby declares
its intention tO annex all of the territory hereinbelow described
under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act
of 1939; hereby finds and declares that said territory is uninhabited
within the meaning of the Government Code Section 35303 on the date
of the adoption of this Resolution; that said territory is contiguous
to the City of Santa Aha, lies in the County of Orange, State of
California, and is described as:
Beginning at the center line intersection of Santa Clara
Avenue and Wright Street, said intersection being the
Northwest corner of the "J. W. Davenport Tract" in the
"A. B. Cha~an Tract" as surveyed by Frank Lecouvreur in
December, 1870, as shown on a map thereof recorded in
Book 102, Page 15 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange
County, California, said intersection also being an angle
point in the existing City of Santa Aha boundary as estab-
lished by Ordinance No. 73 and running thence South 89°
59' 13" West along the center line of said Santa Clara
Avenue and along said existing City boundary, a distance
of 38.39 feet tothe Southeast corner of the boundary of the
"Santa Clara and Wright Northwest Annex", Ordinance No. NS-
584; thence North 0° 03' 07" West along the East boundary
line Of said ordinance No. NS-584, a distance of 25.00 feet
to the North line of said Santa Clara Avenue, said North
line being parallel with and 25.00 feet Northerly, measured
at right angles from the center line of said Santa Clara
Avenue; thence departing fro~ the boundary of said Ordinance
No. NS-584 and from said existing City boundary North 89°
58' 20" East, along said North line of Santa Clara Avenue,
a distance of 450.89 feet, more or less, to the Northerly
extension of the East line of the land conveyed by a deed
to Metropolitan Saving and Loan Association of Los Angeles,
recorded in Book 6340, page 142, Official Records of Orange
County, California; thence South along said East line, a
distance of 553 feet, more or less, to the Southeast corner
of the land described in said deed and to the North line of
that certain parcel of land conveyed by a deed to Lois Brown,
recorded in Book 6690, page 8, of said Official Records;
thence East along said North line, a distance of 412.5 feet,
more or less, to the Northeast corner of the land described
in said last mentioned deed and to a point on the existing
City of Santa Aha boundary as established by the "Fairhaven
and Cambridge Southeast Annex", Ordinance No. NS-576; thence
South 0° 01' 55" East along said existing City boundary and
along the East line of said last mentioned deed, a distance
of 528 feet, more or less, to the Northeast corner of Tract
No. 4167 as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 148,
page 40 and 41, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County,
California, and to the Northeast corner of the boundary of
the "Twenty-First and Lyon N.W. Annex", Ordinance No. NS-532
and to an angle point in the existingCity boundary; thence
South 89° 57' 21" West along the North line of said Tract
No. 4167, a distance of 829.46 feet to the center line of
Wright Street and to an angle point in the existing City
boundary and to a point on the boundary of said Ordinance
No. 73 and to the Northwest corner of said Tract No. 4167;
thence North 0° 02' 00" East, along said center line of
Wright Street and along said existing City boundary, a
distance of 1,056 feet, more or less, to the Point of Beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That "SANTA CLARA ANDWRIGHT S.E.
ANNEX" is hereby designated as an appropriate name by which said
territory shall be known for the purpose of this annexation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That notice is hereby given that
December 16, 1963, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers,
City Hall, Third and Main Streets, Santa Aha, California, is the
time and place fixed at which said Council will hear written protests
against this annexation made by any person owning property within
said territory. At any time prior to the final adjournment of the
hearing on protests any owner of property within the territory may
file written protest against this annexation. The protest shall
state the name of the owner of the property affected and the street
address or other description of the property sufficient to identify
it on the last equalized assessment roll, all as provided for in
California Government Code Section 35312.

Aha at its regular meeting held on the 4th day of November, 1963.
