COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE
ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINACING PRO~RAM THE
DEVELOPMENT OF EUCLID STREET
WHEREAS~ the City of Ssnta Ana desires to improve Euclid Street from
Bolsa Avenue to Hazard Avenue~ and
WHEREAS~ Euclid Street is an important artery in the County of Orange
and of general County interest~ and
WH~REAS~ Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9~ Division 2 of the Streets and
Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned
to it out of the California Highway Users Tax F~nd for aid to any City in the
Lmprovement~ construction or repair of a street within a City, and
WEEREAS~ the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action,
provide in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal
Year 1964-65 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated
cities of the County in accordance with the 0range County Arterial Highway
Financing Program.
NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Ana
hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to
said City from County Funds the ~uount of $39,000.00, said amount to be matched
by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of
Euclid Street from Bolsa Avenue to Hazard Avenue~ and for the acquisition of
necessary rights of way; said improvements and acquisition of rights of way to be
in accordance with the attached project statement;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Ora~e is hereby requested to find that said work and acquisition of rights of
way on Euclid Street~ in the manner provided~ is in the general County interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Santa Aha
agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways Financing Program; and
further agrees that its share of the cost of improvements and rights of way will
be available for the Fiscal Year 1964-65.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at
its regular meeting held on the 23rd day of December , 196~ ·
