C~IISSION AND GRANTING VARIANCE APPLICATION
NO. 1401 FILED BY FOODmaKER COMPANY
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission,
notice, denied Variance Application No.
Company; and
after public hearing on
1401, filed by Foodmaker
WHEREAS, Appeal Application No. 7 was duly filed by the
applicant requesting a hearing on said Variance Application No.
before the City Council; and

~dEREAS, the City Council, after public hearing on notice,
has decided that the Planning Commission should be overruled, and
that said Variance should be granted upon certain conditions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: ~i~nat the City Council hereby
grants a variance on Application No. 1401 to permit the property
located at 1406 East First Street in the City of Santa Ana, lying
in the County of Orange, State of California, described as:
Assessors biap portion of Lot 38, Book 11, Page 15
in a C-2 District, to be used for the construction of an advertising
sign identifying "Oscar's" Restaurant to the height of 47 feet.
Said Variance is granted subject to conditions:
~fhat the sign be constructed of sheet metal with plastic letters
and with no exposed bulbs or neon tubes.
That the sign face the direction indicated on the plot plan, and
that the sign be erected in accordance with said plot plan as
submitted.
That all of the hereinabove listed conditions be complied with
prior to the issuance of a utilities release by the Building
Department.
PASSED AITD ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 6th day of February, 1961.
