HomeMy WebLinkAbout61-086RESOLUTION NO. 61-86 OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, EXPRESSING OPPOSITION TO ASSF~iBLY BILL 351 AND URGING ITS DEFEAT BE IT RESOLVED: By the City Council of the City of Santa Ana that it is unalterably opposed to the philosophy express in Assembly Bill 351: that it firmly believes that public employees, by almost every basis of judgment and almost every standard of determination, are distinguishable from employees of private business organizations; that such employees should neither be encouraged to nor permitted to become members of labor organizations; that expressly granting such right to employees by a statute of the State would be against the public interest of such employees, and this Council urges defeat of this measure in Committee, and if it or any other measure remotely similar reached the floor of the Assembly this Council urges a "no" vote from each and every Assemblyman for the State of California.
