OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, TO ASSUME
RESPONSIBILITY FOR ENFORCEMENT OF PART 2,
DIVISION 13, OF THE HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE REGU-
LATING MOBILEHOMES ARD MOBILEHOME PARKS
WHEREAS, on July 20, 1961, the Governor signed Assembly Bill
No. 2126 (Chapter 2176, Statutes 1961) which went into effect
September 15, 1961, to create entirely new regulations for mobilehomes
and mobilehome parks; and
WHEREAS, Section 18010 of said Chapter provides that cities may
assume responsibility for enforcement of the provisions of Chapter and
the City Council has considered the provisions of said Chapter (Health
and Safety Code Sections 18000 through 18475) and has determined that
the City of Santa Ana has an adequate staff of trained personnel and
should assume the enforcement of said Chapter within the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City of Santa Ana,
California, hereby declares its intent to assume responsibility for
the enforcement of the provisions contained in Part 2, Division 13,
of the Health and Safety Code of the State of California, declares
its intention to enforce said provisions and directs the Clerk of the
Council to notify the Division of Housing, in writing, of the decision
of this City Council by sending to said Division a certified copy of
this Resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: ~fhat the Orange County Health Depart-
ment is hereby requested to assume enforcement of those provisions of
said Part relating to maintenance, sanitation and toilet facilities
within the City of Santa Ana in accordance with the letter from
Edward Lee Russell, M.D., dated August 23, 1961, in the interest of
uniformity of enforcement, since said Department now has the responsi-
bility for the enforcement of all statutes and regulations relating
to sanitary matters within said City and has available a trained and
competent staff for said purpose.
