INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF WASHINGTON AVENUE
EAST OF THE NEW ALIGNMENT OF JACKSON STREET
WHEREAS, the vacation of that portion of Washington Avenue
herein described has been recommended by the Department of Public
Works and referred to the Planning Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby
adopts the map attached hereto, orders the same filed with the orig-
inal of this Resolution in the office of the Clerk of the Council,
and reference is hereby made to said map for the exterior boundaries
of the street right of way proposed to be vacated.
The City Council declares its intention to proceed with this
street vacation under the provisions of the Street Vacation Act of
1941 (Sections 8300 through 8374 of the California Streets and High-
ways code) to vacate that portion of Washington Avenue, in the City
of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California, described as:
That portion of Washington Avenue as shown on a map of
Tract Number 1022, Recorded in Book 34, Pages 20 and 21,
Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California,
lying East of a line that is parallel with and 576.52
feet East, measured at right angles, from the center line
of Bewley Street as shown on said map of Tract Number 1022.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That November 20, 1961, at the hour
of 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Third and Main Streets,
Santa Aha, California, is hereby fixed as the ttme and place for hearing
all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed street vacation.
The Clerk of the Council is ordered to p~blish this Resolution
in the manner prescribed by law for the publication of Ordinances of
the City, and the Director of Public Works is ordered to post notices
of street vacation conspicuously along the line of said street, stating
the passage of this Resolution of Intention to Vacate, and the time
and place of hearing thereof. Said notices shall be posted not more
than 300 feet apart and at least three shall be so posted. Both
publication and posting shall be completed at least 10 days before the
date of said hearing.

The Clerk of the Council is hereby ordered to publish a copy
of this Resolution in the Register for at least two successive weeks
prior to the hearing, and the Director of Public Works is hereby
ordered to post conspicuously along the lines of said easement notices
stating the adoption of this Resolution and giving notice of the time
and place of hearing as set out herein. Said notices shall be posted
not more than three hundred feet apart and at least three notices shall
be posted. Said notices shall be posted at least 15 days before the
date of said hearing.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana
at its regular meeting held on the 16th day of October, 1961.
