ON APPEAL APPLICATION NO. 42 FILED BY H. A. AND
ROSE E. PASKETT WHERE ZONING ADMINISTRATOR DENIED
VARIANCE AS APPLIED FOR BUT GRANTED VARIANCE WITH
MODIFICATIONS
WHEREAS, AFTER HEARING, the Zoning Administrator granted
Variance Application No. 1545, filed by H. A. and ROSE E. PASKETT
to permit the construction of 4 dwelling units on a parcel of real
property at 1931 West Washington Avenue, Santa Ana, California, in
an R-2 District, subject to one condition; and
WHEREAS, Variance Application No. 1545, filed by H. A. and
ROSE PASKETT, sought a variance to allow the construction of a
5-unit apartment building on the aforesaid property; and
WHEREAS, the Variance as granted by the Zoning Administrator
was approved by the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, Appeal Application No. 42 was duly filed with the
City Council appealing the modificationSof the Variance by the
Zoning Administrator and the Planning Commission; and

WHEREAS, after hearing before the City Council; after careful
consideration of the statements contained in and the material
accompanying the application; the testimony offered at the hearing;
examination of all the facts established; and the finding that the
requirements as set forth in Section 9250.8 of the Santa Aha Munici-
pal Code have been met, it has been determined that said Variance
should be granted as originally applied for, but subject to one
condition, and that the Zoning Administrator's determination should
be overruled.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana hereby grants Appeal Application No. 42 and grants
a Variance on Variance Application No. 1545 to permit the construc-
tion of a 5-unit apartment building on the property situated at

1931 West Washington Street, Santa Ana, California (thereby allowing
a total of six dwelling units in the R-2 District) subject to the
condition that the owner place sidewalk along the full width of the
property fronting on Washington Avenue.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 6th day of November, 1961.
