RESOLUTIO/~ NO. 6.$~0 GRANTING VARIANCE ON APPLICATION
NO. 1266 WHERE THE PLANNING COMMISSION REC(IMMEND~D DENIAL
WHEREAS, the Planning COmmission, after hearing, rec~,~,ended
that Variance Application 1266 filed by E~ M. Rosenba~be denied
and the council, after hearing evidence both for and against said
Variance~determined that the same should be granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED= That the City Council finds
that s~ecial circumstances attach because the property, known and
numbere~ as 301 S. Sycamore Street, Santa Aha, has two old dwell-
ings locate~ thereon and that the property is deprived of uses now
available to other property in the area and that the requested use
will not ba detrimental to surrounding property.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED~ That the Variance is hereby granted
to pemit the use of the property herein describe~ for display and
sale of used cars in connection with the property immediately East
of this percel facing on Main Street, on the following conditions:
1. That the buildings presently existing on this property
be entirely ramove~ therefroen.
2. That a concrete wall not less than 5 feet high be con-
structed along the Northerly edge of the existing pavament back
to the e~isting garage~ that said wall be curved on a 10-foot radius
at the corner of Pine and Sycamore Streets and be continued along
across t~eWe~terly frontage of this property 10 feet East of the
West property line.
3. That all access rights to Pine and'Sycamore Streets be
dedicated to the City, it being unde~st°°d that City will quitclaim
back to owner access across one area for one driveway at a place to
be agreed upon.
4. That no lllm~inated sign will be allowe~ on Sycamore
Street and that any non-illmainated sign must be of a size ap~rove~
by the City, and in accordance with City regulations.
5. That any lighting on the Sycamore Street side of said
property be of a reflector or shielded type so that no part of
said light shall shine into or ~pon the property /mmediately
South of this ~arcel.
.. 6. That one row of string lighting only may be placed
along the Pine Street aide of said property.
The property to which this Variance applies is in the City
of Santa Aha and is described as:
Lot Two in BlOCk Nine of Palmer's Addition to Town
Of Santa Aha, as shown on a Map recorded in Book
34, Page 87 of M~scellaneous Records of Los Angeles
county, California.
