RESOLUTION NO. 60-102 RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 60-60
TO CORRECT ERROR AND GRANTING VARIANCE ON APPLICATION
NO. 1266 FILED BY ED M. ROSENBAUM, WHERE PLANNING
COMMISSION RECOMMENDED DENIAL
WHER__w. AS, on April 4, 1960 the City Council adopted Resolu-
tion No. 60-60 granting a Variance where the Planning Commission
had recommended denial and one of the expressed conditions was in
error and should be corrected.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Resolution No. 60-60
is hereby rescinded and the City Council finds that special circum-
stances attach because the property, known and numbered as 301 S.
Sycamore Street, Santa Ana, has two old dwellings located thereon
and that the property is deprived of uses now available to other
property in the area and that the requested use will not be detri-
mental to surrounding property.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Variance is hereby granted
to permit the use of the property herein described for display and
sale of used cars in connection with the property immediately East
of this parcel facing on Main Street, on the following conditions:
1. That the buildings presently existing on this property
be entirely removed therefrom.
2. That a block wall not less than five feet high be con,
structed, as follows:
(a) on the North edge of the existing drive, commencing
at the West property line Easterly to a point even
with the garage on the abutting property to the
South;
(b) A concrete wall fence not less than five feet high
along the West property line with a ten-foot radius
at the corner of Pine and Sycamore Streets, said
wall to end ten feet East of the West property line
(which is at the end of the radius).
3. That all access rights to Pine and Sycamore Streets be
dedicated to the City, it being understood that City will
quitclaim back to owner access across one area for one
driveway at a place to be agreed upon.
4. That no illuminated sign will be allowed on Sycamore
Street and that anynon-illuminated sign must be of a size
approved by the City, and in accordance with City regulations.
5. That any lighting on the Sycamore Street side of said
property be of a reflector or shielded type so that no part
of said light shall shine into or upon the property immedi-
ately South of this parcel.
6. That one row of string lighting only may be placed along
the Pine Street side of said property.
The property to which this Variance applies is in the City
of Santa Aha and is described as:
Lot Two in Block Nine of Palmer's Addition to Town
of Santa Aha, as shown on a Map recorded in Book 34,
Page 87 of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles
County, California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Aha at its regular meeting held on the 16th day of May, 1960.
