HomeMy WebLinkAbout60-145RESOLUTION NO. 60-1~5 INITIATING PROCEEDINGS FOR THE A/~EXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, DESIGNATING AN APPROPRIATE NA~ OF "TUSTIN AND SEVENTEENTH N. E. ANNEX" FOR SAID TEI{RITORY, AND GIVING NOTICE OF PROTEST HEARING ~I5~EREON WHEREAS, at the r~_q~gst of property owners in the territory herein described, a description and a map of said territory were presented to the Santa Aha Planning Commission, and said Commission approved the Annexation of said Territory, and said description and map were presented to the Boundary Commission of Orange County, California, and said Boundary Commission caused to be prepared a report finding the p$oposed boundaries to be reasonably definite and certain. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Aha hereby initiates proceedings for Annexation of Territory herein described to the City of Santa Ana for the following reasons: 1.) That said Territory is in need of municipal services because of existing business establishments and proposed new development. 2.) ~%at the area can best be served by the City of Santa Aha with municipal services of the highest quality any- where obtainable. 3.) That it is to the mutual advantage of the land owners and the City of Santa Aha that said territory become a part of said City. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby declares its intention to annex all of the territory hereirubelow described under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, and hereby finds and declares that said territory is unin- habited within the meaning of California Government Code Section 35303 on the date of the adoption of this Resolution; that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana, lies in the County of Orange, State of California, and is described as: -1- Beginning at an angle point in the City boundary of the City of Santa Aha, said angle point being on the intersection of the West line of Old Tustin Avenue 60.00 feet wide, with a line which is parallel with and 40 feet Northerly measured at right angles, from the centerline of Seventeenth Street, said angle point being 30.00 feet West and 40.00 feet North of the Southwest corner of Lot 13, Block B of the A. B. Chapman Tract as surveyed by Frank Lecouvruer in December 1870 as shown on a map of survey filed in Book 9, Page 39, Records of Survey, County of Orange, in the office of the County Recorder, State of California; running thence Northerly along said City boundary and Northerly along a line parallel with and 30.00 feet Westerly, measured at right angles, from the centerline of said Old Tustin Avenue, 1940' more or less, to the.Westerly extension of the North line of the South half of LOt 12, Block "B" in said A. B. Chapman Tract; thence ~asterly along said North line and its extensions 13S2.58 feet more or less to a point 32.58 feet East of the East line of said Lot 12; thence Southerly in a straight line 660 feet more or less to a point on the South line of Lot 11 in said Block B, which is 33.56 feet East of the Southeast corner of said Lot 12; thence Westerly along the South line of Lots 11 and 12, 701.10 feet more or less to a point on the South line of said Lot 12 which is 25 feet West of the centerline of Ponderosa Street as shown on a map of Tract No. 2493 recorded in Book 113, Pages 35 and 36, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California; thence Southerly along a line parallel with and 25 feet Westerly, measured at right angles from said centerline of Ponderosa Street 662.74 feet more or less to the South line of said Tract No. 2493; thence Westerly along the South line of said Tract No. 2493 and its extension 426.92 feet more or less to its intersection with a line which is parallel with and 40 feet Westerly, measured at right angles, from the centerline of New Tustin Avenue as conveyed to the State of California by Deed recorded October 7, 1937 in Book 904, Page 518, Official Records of Orange County, California; thence Southerly along said parallel line 650 feet more or less to its intersection with a line which is parallel with and 40 feet Northerly, measured at right angles, from the centerline of Seventeenth Street, and to the City boundary of the City of Santa Aha; thence Westerly along said City boundary and along said parallel line 480 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That "Tustin and Seventeenth N. E. Annex" is hereby designated as an appropriate name by which said territory shall be known for the purpose of this annexation. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: 'fhat notice is hereby given that September 19, 1960, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Third and Main Streets, Santa Aha, California, is the time and place fixed at which said Council will hear protests against this Annexation made by any person owning property within said territory. At any time before said hour any owner of property within said terri- tory may file written protest against this proposed Annexation.
