Clerk of the Council Office <br />www.santa-ana.org/departments/clerk-of-the-council/ <br />Item # 12 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br /> Staff Report <br />August 16, 2022 <br />TOPIC: Redistricting Partners <br />AGENDA TITLE: <br />Amend Agreement with Redistricting Partners, LLC to Increase Contract Amount by <br />$10,500 for Redistricting and Mapping of Demographics (General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager to execute an amendment to the agreement with Redistricting <br />Partners, LLC to increase compensation amount by $10,500 for redistricting and mapping <br />of demographics in compliance with Federal and California Voting Rights Act <br />Requirements, subject to non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager and <br />City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On September 9, 2021, the City entered into an agreement with Redistricting Partners, <br />LLC to provide demographic analysis, census mapping, drafting maps and other essential <br />tasks. Redistricting Partners, LLC, provided significant support in the redistricting process <br />and were invaluable in public outreach efforts. Additionally, Redistricting Partners, LLC, <br />worked closely with the Orange County Registrar to oversee the processing of new lines <br />and the adoption of them. <br />The City received a late invoice from Redistricting Partners, LLC, but the contract amount <br />has been exhausted due to the amount added by the invoice. In order to continue the use <br />of this consultant for future purposes, an increase in the contract amount is requested. <br />The current aggregate amount of $50,000 with the additional invoice received of $10,500 <br />is over the City Manager’s $50,000 award authority, and therefore requires City Council <br />approval. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />There is no environmental impact associated with this action.
