MLTNIC iPAL BOWL
WHEREAS, the structural members of the bleachers in the
Santa Aha Municipal Bowl had, in some cases, been reported to be
unsafe, and an estimate for rehabilitation of the Bowl gave costs
varying from $30,000.00 to $59,000.00, which the City Council
determined should not be spent to repair the existing structure,
and after conferences with the School Board and study, the Council
was asked to keep the Bowl opened to the public for two more years;
and
WHEREAS, ~. Floyd Weaver, the structural engineer hired by
the City, estimated that structural safety could be obtained for a
considerably lower figure in view of the offers of voluntary labor
and supervision made to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City accepted these offers for voluntary labor
and supervision and entered into an agreement with the Gallegos
Construction Corporation for the necessary work, which has now been
completed at a total cost to the City of $1,976.00, as shown by a
report at the meeting of the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: ~at the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana hereby expresses its appreciation and the
