OF A COPY OF NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CIRCULATE
PETITION FOR ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO SANTA ANA,
ACCOMPANYING STATEMENT AND AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION
THEREOF AND APPROVING THE CIRCULATION OF THE PETITION.
WHEREAS, heretofore there was filed with the City Clerk with
the City of Santa Ana a copy of NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CIRCULATE
PETITION FOR ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA,
CALIFORNIA, accompanied by a written statement containing reasons
for said petition together with an affidavit of publication of the
same in the Santa Ana Register on November 9th, 1960; and
WHEREAS, the Annexation Act of 1913 provides that the Legis-
lative Body may adopt a resolution acknowledging receipt of the
notice and approving the circulation of the petition.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana hereby acknowledges receipt of said notice, state-
ment and affidavit, as hereinabove set out, and that approval be and
the sa~ae is hereby given for the circulation of the petition for
annexation of that certain territory heretofore and hereby designated
as "FAIRHAVEN AND ESPLANADE WEST ANNEX". The circulation of said
petition shall not begin until twenty-one (21) days after the date
of publication of said notice and statement.
That the territory herein designated "FAIRHAVEN AND ESPLANADE
WEST ANNEX" lies in the County of Orange, State of California, and
is described as:
FAIRHAVEN AND ESPLANADE WEST ANNEX
Beginning at a point on the North line of Section6, Township 5 South, Range
10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, said point beiug 2,085.50 feet
East of the Northwest corner of said Section 6, said point being on an angle
point in the City Boundary of the City of Santa Ana, California, said point
being on the center line of Santiago Avenue, and running thence South along
said City Boundary and along said center line 825.00 feet more or less to a
point 330.00 feet North of the Northwest corner of Tract Number 1716 as shown'
on a .map thereof Recorded in Book 52, Page 12, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of
Orange County, California; thence East along said City Boundary in a straight
line 866.3& feet more or less to the Northwest corner of Tract Number 3~89 as
shown on a map thereof, recorded in Book 126, Page &2, Miscellaneous Maps of
said Orange County; thence East along the North line of said Tract Number 3~89
and its East extension &78.~6 feet to a line which is parallel with and 25' feet
East measured at right angles, from the center line of Lincoln Avenue; thence
North along said line, which is 25 feet East of the center line of Lincoln
Avenue, ~63.28 feet to its intersection with a line, which is 30 feet South,
and parallel with, measured at right angles, from the center line of Fairhaven
Avenue; thence East along said parallel line which is 30 feet South of the
center line of Fairhaven Avenue 7,800 feet, more or less, to its intersection
with the North extension of the West line of Tract Number 3697, as shown on a
map thereof, Recorded in Book 129, Pages 8 and 9 of said Miscellaneous Maps,
Records of Orange County; thence South along said West line of Tract Number 3697
and its North extension 877 feet more or less to the Southwest corner of said
Tract Number 3697; thence East along the South line of Tract Number 3697, a dis-
tance of &30 feet to the Southeast corner of said Tract Number 3697, said South-
east corner being a point on the North line of Tract Number 3612 as shown on a
map Recorded in Book 125, Pages 2d~iscellaneous Maps, Records of said Orange
County; thence East along said North line of Tract Number 3612 and its East
extension ~80.20 feet, to the Northwest corner of Tract Number 20&O as shown on
a map thereof recorded in Book 11~, Pages 33, 3&, and 35, Miscellaneous Maps,
Records of said Orange County; thence East along the North line or,said Tract
Number 2040, a distance of 676.54 feet to the Northeast corner of said Tract
Number 2040 and to the Northwest corner of Tract Number 3169 as shown on a
map thereof recorded in Book 106, Pages 43 and 44, Miscellaneous Maps, Records
of said Orange County; thence East along the North line of said Tract Number
3169, a distance of 643.50 feet to the Northeast corner of said Tract Number
3169; thence South along the East line of said Tract 3169~ a distance of 312.18
feet to the Northwest corner of Tract Number 299~ as shown on a map thereof re-
corded in Book 93, Pages 20 and 21, Miscellaneous Maps, Records cf said Orange
County; thence East along the North line of said Tract 2994 and its East ex-
tension 820.31 feet to its intersection ~dth a line which is parallel with and
25 feet West, measured at right angles, from the center line of Prospect Avenue;
thence South along said line which is 25 feet ~West from the centerline of Prospect
Avenue and its sxtension 13~0 feet more or less to its intersection with the
West extension of the South line of Tract Number 1791, as shown on a map 6hereof

1743 feet more or less to the Southeast corner of said Tract 1791, said South-
east corner being a point on the West line of Tract Number 1792 as shown in Book

South along said West line of Tract Number 1792, a distance of 331.80 feet to
the most Southerly corner of Tract 1792, said most Southerly corner being
the Northwest corner of Tract 2974 as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book
92, Page 12, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of said Orange County; thence North
74' 21' 25" East 256.65 feet; thence North 68° 02' 45" East 15&.58 feet; thence
North 89' 57' 00" East 600 feet more or less to the Westerly line of the 40-foot
right of way of the Southern Pacific Railroad, which abuts the East side of
Esplanade Avenue; thence North along said West line and its extension of the
railroad right of way 2852 feet more or less to its intersection with a line,
which is parallel with and 30 feet North, measured at right angles, from the
center line of Fairhaven Avenue; thence West along said line which is parallel
with the center line of Fairhaven Avenue 2714 feet more or less to its inter-
section with a line ~ich is parallel with and 25 feet West, measured at right
angles, from the centerline of Prospect AvenUe; thence South along said line
which is 25 feet West of the ~center line of Prospect Avenue 105 feet
more or less, to a line which is parallel with and 20 feet North, measured at
right a~gles, from the center line of Fairhaven Avenue; thence ~;est along said

and along the North line of Lot 13, and its West extension, in said Block "C"
2700 feet more or less, to a line which is parallel with and 30 feet West,
measured at right angels, from the center line of Tustin Avenue; thence along .
said line which is parallel with the center line of Tustin Avenue, South O0°
55' 51" West, 252 feet more or less to a point which is 1067.18 feet North of
the center line of Fairhaven Avenue; thence North 73e 54' 50" West 137.6A feet
to the beginning of a tangent curve concave Southerly having a radius of 2300
feet; thence Northwesterly along the arc of said curve through a central angle
of 18° 14' 23" an arc distance of 732.19 feet to a tangent line; thence South

having a radius of 4500 feet; thence Southwesterly along the arc of said curve

point in said Santa Ana City boundary; thence Soubh 71° 20' 50" West along the
South line of said Parcel I and along said Sant~ Aha City boundary, a distance of
189.95 fe'~t to the East corner of that certain parcel of land described as Parcel
2~ in Book 800, Page 1SA, Official Records of Orange County and to an angle point
in said Santa Ana City boundary; thence South 64' A9' 50" West, along the South
line of said Parcel 2, and along said Santa Ana City boundary a distance of 780.95
feet to the Southwest corner of said Parcel 2, said corner being in the East line
of Santiago Avenue, said corner also being an angle point in said Santa Ana City
boundary; thence South along said East line of Santiago Avenue, and along said
Santa ,Aha City boundary 180 feet more or less to the intersection of said East
line with the North line of said Section 6, and to an angle point in said Santa
Ana City boundary; thence West along said North line of Section 6, and along said
Santa Ana City Boundary, 30 feet to the point of beginning.
